As soon as Fiona brought it up, she relaxed a little. “Actually, yes! My little sister joined the STAR fan book club. She’s even the president now.”
Still, she couldn’t help wondering why President Windsor had suddenly asked about this. Was it possible he was a STAR fan himself? The thought startled Fiona. That seemed... unlikely, didn’t it?
While Fiona was still trying to figure out what their company president was thinking, he handed down a suggestion with his usual air of delegation. “Fiona, when you get home, ask your sister if she’d be interested in rallying STAR’s fans to write letters to STAR. I’ll make sure, as the company, that their letters are delivered directly. It’ll be good publicity for the film, too.”
Fiona blinked in surprise. Rally the fans to write letters?
Then excitement bubbled up inside her, though she kept her expression carefully composed. “Yes, President Windsor. I’ll talk to my sister about it tonight.”
The truth was, Fiona was a STAR fan herself. But as Windsor & Co.’s chief secretary, she knew better than to let her personal interests show at work. That’s why she always kept that side of herself hidden in the office.
If this campaign really happened, she’d absolutely write STAR a letter herself!
“Alright, off you go,” Beasley said in his usual even tone.
“Yes, President Windsor! I’ll get right on those emails,” Fiona replied, practically glowing inside as she left his office.
Once Fiona was gone, Beasley stood and wandered over to the floor-to-ceiling windows, gazing down at the city below.
Last time, Bernard had hired a bunch of online trolls to spread rumors that STAR wasn’t a real author. Beasley wondered if Willow had seen those trending topics—would she finally consider revealing her true identity?
Of course, he’d had his PR team take care of the rumors in record time.
Practice made perfect. The company’s crisis management team was getting better at this kind of thing every time.
But how much longer would she stay hidden away?
Was she actually avoiding him?
He thought that was highly likely.
