Adrian's gaze was darker than the night itself, as if the wind and snow outside had settled deep within his eyes.
His focus was locked on the steps.
A light from above happened to shine down on them, illuminating their figures.
So he could clearly see their clasped hands.
"Daddy?"
Oliver waited for a long time but didn't see Adrian get angry.
He was motionless, not even blinking, just staring in Isabel's direction.
He looked furious.
Oliver figured they were feeling the same thing.
He was angry that Mommy was having fun with that boy.
Daddy was angry that Mommy was smiling and holding hands with the man.
"Daddy, I want to get out of the car."
This time, Adrian reacted. He got out of the car with him.
Isabel was about to come down the steps to tell them to eat. Even though the food was in an insulated container, it would get cold quickly if left outside in this weather.
Mainly, if she didn't stop them soon, Miles would really turn into a snowman.
Jokes had their limits.
It was time to stop.
But just as she stepped onto the snowy ground, a pair of arms wrapped around her legs.
"Mommy."
Isabel reached down to pull him off, but her hands were grabbed.
"We're not divorced yet."
