Zachariah was a little bored, and said, "I'll be there." Then he hung up the phone.
He looked at Ophelia and said, "I’ll leave now. We can talk about it when I come back. Don't think too much. You are more important to me than you imagined."
Zachariah left chicly, leaving Ophelia there trying to figure out what he meant.
Does Zachariah mean that Ophelia was more than just an employee to him? Actually, he thought of her as his wife, right?
Ophelia forced a smile, even if Zachariah treated her as his wife, she was still the most insignificant compared to Cora.
Naturally, Zachariah couldn't realize Ophelia’s pain, and drove to the hospital.
When seeing Zachariah, Cora, who was pale before, her eyes shined immediately. She said, "You are finally here, I miss you so much."
Mrs. Fletcher was obviously dissatisfied with Zachariah arriving so late, "Zachariah, why did you come so late, don't you know Cora can't do without you now? She is weak and refuses to eat. A woman who has a miscarriage must take a good rest. She is ignorant, are you also ignorant?"
Cora glanced at Mrs. Fletcher, and said with a sigh, "Mom, don't blame him. I just like the way he is by my side. What if he gets angry and leaves if you accuse him like this?"
Mrs. Fletcher was so angry that she said that a married daughter was just like water that has been poured---she didn’t belong to her parents any more. Cora hasn't married yet. All her thoughts were on Zachariah. If they got married, Cora would favor Zachariah more.
"Cora, don't make trouble, I'm teaching him a lesson." Mrs. Fletcher said.
Cora was not convinced so she pouted.
Zachariah changed the subject, "Mrs. Fletcher, have you eaten?"
Mrs. Fletcher glared at him and said, "Cora didn't eat, do you think I am in the mood?"
"Okay, I'll prepare the food for you. Mrs. Fletcher, you should stay here with Cora."
Cora grabbed Zachariah’s clothes and said fragilely like a helpless child. "Where are you going?"
Mrs. Fletcher looked at her daughter being dependent on Zachariah. Although she was a little unhappy, Cora was her only daughter, and she could only follow Cora’s wishes.
Cora raised her head and said, "Mom, the baby is not Zachariah's. He never touched me."
Mrs. Fletcher was so excited that her voice sounded high-pitched, "Then whose baby is that?"
"My ex-boyfriend, who I had dated in Europe."
Mrs. Fletcher chest moved up and down, "Didn't you break contact with that June Lauren? Why are you pregnant with his child?"
Cora lowered her head again, "Mom, I broke all contact with him, but he came here with me and threatened me with the sex video we filmed before. I had to sleep with him several times. When I returned to Europe, we made out again. It was at that time that I was pregnant."
Mrs. Fletcher was furious. She raised her hand and wanted to slap Cora, but seeing Cora’s pale face, she was softhearted.
"Cora, why do you have to abuse yourself in this way? We are a family of wealth, and has given you a lot of education since childhood. Why do you have no self-esteem and self-love? Are you trying to piss me off? The baby’s father is responsible, but you falsely accused Zachariah. The Chambers Family are not fools. When you give birth to the baby and have your DNA tested, the truth will be revealed."
With that said, Mrs. Fletcher suddenly had her ideas straightened out, "Did you plan the miscarriage?"
