Betrayed, But Not Defeated novel Chapter 127

Robert was confident.

The men attacking weren't just any fighters; they were the elite enforcers of the Aurora Foundation.

They specialized in handling the dirtiest of tasks in the shadows.

They weren't on the same level as those from the Obsidian Group.

"Hand it over, Daniel. Mr. Dooly might even spare your life," Robert snorted.

"Is that so?"

Daniel let out a small laugh.

With a flick of his wrist, the dining ware on the table shattered instantly.

A chorus of screams erupted.

"You're a grandmaster? No… That's not right!"

Robert's expression changed dramatically.

Without hesitation, he reached into his sleeve and pulled out a small dagger.

"By the divine order! Die!"

With a low incantation, the dagger disappeared and reappeared at Daniel's throat.

Daniel was a little surprised.

"I didn't expect to see such a well-crafted talisman!"

As he spoke, his fingers reached out to pinch the blade.

"Fool!"

Robert's eyes flashed coldly.

Inside, he cursed himself. He had underestimated Daniel and lost too many men.

Thankfully, he still had his talisman!

The dagger surged with energy, vibrating violently.

If Daniel were to touch it, his hand would be reduced to a bloody ruin.

But, the expected carnage never came.

Instead, the dagger stopped vibrating the moment Daniel's fingers closed around it.

"Interesting."

As he pressed lightly a sharp pop rang out from the dagger.

And just like that, it fell silent.

Robert's face turned pale, and he stared at Daniel in horror.

Jennifer stood there, her mind replaying his words over and over.

She had nothing to say to Daniel's questions.

Daniel didn't waste another second. He pulled out his phone and called Alden.

Minutes later, Alden arrived with armed men in tow.

Daniel gestured at the unconscious Robert.

"Watch him. I'll have a proper chat with him tomorrow."

Although he still didn't care about Jennifer, he had promised Charlene that he'd bring her back.

She was probably worried sick by now!

Alden waved his hand, but as soon as his eyes landed on Robert his expression shifted.

"Mr. Ashcroft… This might be a problem."

"Oh? How so?" Daniel turned his head toward Alden.

"Robert has some serious influence in Qranross. He's the Aurora Foundation's public figure.

"And… He knows some real sorcery."

Hearing this, Daniel waved his head.
