Ryn's pov
We reached the bottom of the staircase and rushed to leave the building. On our way I noticed a head peeking behind the desk to see that it was the receptionist. She looks alarmed as she holds a phone to her ears talking to whoever quickly.
I give her one last stare before walking out of the door. We rushed down the pathway, both of us looking around in alarm and agitation. The people who were around earlier were nowhere to be seen.
I opened the passenger door and entered in a hast to get in. As soon as both of us were seated in, we didn't even bother to put the seat belts on, Ace had just drove away from dead-end.
"Something isn't right Ace, he knew we would be at Leila's today just like he knew we were at the restaurant." I voiced out my thoughts looking in the rear view mirror to see if there were anyone suspicious following us.
"You're right bellissima, he's always one step ahead. But he doesn't know that we know every single detail about the shipment. We're one step closer to taking him down." Ace retorts and steps on the gas to go faster.
I was about to speak when my phone starts ringing, fishing it out of my pocket I answered it in a hurry at seeing Nate's name pop up. "Nate you better give me good news because I really don't think I can take bad news right now!" I grumble.
"Sorry Ryn but it's really bad news. José called to inform me that they have gotten your fingerprints on the dead bodies and that's not the only bad news, Miranda confessed to Stark that you and Ace were the ones who killed the men in the restaurant." Nate rushes out in one breath and stays mute when I let out a loud curse.
"That fucking bitch! Fuck Fuck!" I roared hitting the dashboard.
Ace looks at me sideways before focusing on the road. At the speed he was driving I think we would reach home in at least forty minutes or less.
"Robert actually forced her to confirm this to Stark." Nate answers. Was he trying to excuse what she had done? I don't give a flying fuck what her excuse was. She just put me and my job in jeopardy and now I regretted even talking to her that day.
I breathed out. "Okay look Nate, where are you and Becca?"
I heard him sigh on the other end. "José called me back five minutes ago to say that Stark wants me at the station before they decide to raid your house. They need me there apparently. Look I'm on my way to the station but I'm taking my time, I can't drop Becca off at your home so I'll drop her at mine." He claims.
I sighed feeling lost at what to do. "Nate I think Robert knows where I live, I think he has an eye on us. Look, just hold Stark and the boys back for a while. I'm going to check on the house before they come. I'll be taking some stuff with me since I'll be on the run." I spoke. I didn't want Stark to catch me at the house.
Nate sighs. "I'll try Ryn but no promises, Stark is already itching to bring you down. Listen I can't give you a heads up when we'll be coming because I don't want them to suspect anything. Just as soon as you hear the sirens get out of there okay?"
Nate sighs on the other end and pauses for a second. "It wouldn't be long until he knows Ryn, but he knows you like the back of his hand, he knows you're doing this for a reason."
"I'll speak to you soon, just be careful, like I said Robert has his eyes on us and I'm certain he has his eyes on you too." I mumbled and hung up when he said bye.
I put the phone in my pocket and put my seat belt on and sighed. No going back now. "Speed up Ace we need to get there before the cops."
"Bad news huh?" Ace questions and does what I asked.
I nodded. "They confirmed that it was my fingerprints and Miranda confessed to seeing us kill those men. Captain Stark is waiting on Nate so they could come and raid my house, we can't let them find any of your belongings there, and it'll make everything worse and confirm what Miranda was suggesting. Besides I need to take some stuff with me since I'm now on the run."
"Fuck is Becca safe? I'm so sorry for getting you caught up in my mess bellissima." He mumbles and starts to speed up more.
"Nate's bringing her to his house, she can't be seen at mine. And it's fine, it was already my mess when he decided to kill my parents." I answered. At the rate Ace was driving we would arrive there before the twenty minutes I had told Nate.
