Awake for Love: My Coma Bridegroom novel Chapter 639

The private dining room was unusually spacious for just the three of them.

The ambiance was quiet, yet eerie. After the waiter brought their dishes and left, Elijah was gearing up for a conversation. However, fearing that he might upset Ian, Violette took the initiative, “Ian, aren’t you hungry? The food here is pretty good. You should have a try.”

She served Ian a full plate of food.

Ignoring Elijah, Ian focused solely on his meal.

Elijah scooped up a bowl of ribs soup and extended it towards Violette. “When do you plan on going back home?”

Violette was reluctant to converse with him in front of Ian, who was particularly sensitive around Elijah. In case any of his words upset Ian, it would only deepen the rift between father and son.

“Let’s eat first!” She lowered her gaze and quietly continued her meal.

After a while, Ian, now full, put down his cutlery. “Mom, I’m tired. I’ll head home first.”

Violette immediately put down her spoon, ready to accompany him.

“Mom, you haven’t finished eating! I’ll have the bodyguard drop me home.” After saying that, Ian picked up his backpack and headed towards the exit.

With the little third wheel gone, Elijah finally had the chance to speak.

“Ian is off to summer camp tomorrow. When do you plan on going back home?” His lips parted slightly. “We could go back together.”

“I don’t want to return tomorrow.” Violette gently declined his offer.

“Then I won’t go back tomorrow either.” He adapted to her response.

“Can we address all the issues between us tonight?” He wanted to resolve their differences. Their child would be born soon, and they had to raise him together.

“There are no more issues.” She put down her soup spoon, unwilling to discuss the heavy topic. “I’m a bit tired. I didn’t take a nap today.”

“I’ll walk you home.” He stood up, walked over to her, and helped her up.

“Where do you live?” She casually asked as she picked up her bag.

He hesitated for a moment. She saw the blush creeping up on his handsome face, and her heart skipped a beat. “Elijah, you just arrived today and haven’t found a place to stay yet?”

“Uh-huh. I’ll find a hotel close to your place later.” He seemed to want to reassure her, but not quite. “I didn’t bring a bodyguard this time, so it’s convenient for me to stay anywhere.”

He didn’t bring a bodyguard. Her eyebrows furrowed in worry.
