Awake for Love: My Coma Bridegroom novel Chapter 632

“Torment her?” He murmured. Then his voice rose suddenly. He said coldly, “Adrian, don’t you think you’re quite shameless?”

“I’m shameless. All faults lie with me, but please don’t judge Violette with your narrow mind,” Adrian countered. His tone was steady and open. “Violette came to see me yesterday, primarily to search for some medical notes left by Dr. Mitchel, and also to discuss her treatment plans with me. Although my medical skills are not as strong as hers, I do have a solid theoretical knowledge.”

As Adrian laid these facts out, Elijah’s breathing on the other end of the phone became heavy.

“Violette has taken on a surgery.” Adrian continued, “If you think she’s only in it for the money, then you’re being quite shallow. If you love her, can you start by respecting her?”

Adrian rarely raised his voice when speaking to others. His good upbringing taught him restraint, but Elijah was pushing him to his limits.

Elijah retorted after a moment of silence, “Your so-called respect is just unbounded indulgence! I could only manage to leave her be if I don’t love her.”

Adrian replied, “The tighter you hold a handful of sand, the quicker it slips through your fingers. You cannot bind Violette. She doesn’t belong to you alone.”

His words infuriated Elijah. “She is mine!”

“I don’t wish to argue with you about this.” Adrian, who couldn’t out-shout him, changed the subject instead. “You have no right to dictate who Makayla can or cannot associate with. She’s not the naive girl you used to manipulate. Respect her, and give her phone back!”

Elijah hung up.

Adrian put down his phone, gripping the steering wheel tightly, trying to regain his composure.

Elijah’s nature was obsessive. His control issues were intense, towards both Violette and Makayla.

Unfortunately, both Violette and Makayla were deeply in love with this man.

Soon, Adrian’s phone rang. He picked it up to see that it was Makayla calling. He answered immediately.

“Ha! I’m dying, but you’re asking me to be strong? The criminal is Violette. I heard her voice. Why doesn’t anyone believe me? I can accept if strangers don’t believe me, but dad, how could you not believe me?! Is it because I’ve become a burden, that you stopped loving me?”

“Sarah! It’s not that I don’t believe you. The voice you heard might be a hallucination, or someone could have imitated or edited her voice. Otherwise, why would her voice appear only after you went blind? The police told me this, and I think it makes sense.”

Mr. Warren didn’t particularly like Violette, but he couldn’t ignore the facts.

Sarah sat stunned on her hospital bed as if her soul had been snatched away.

Kaleb walked over to Mr. Warren, murmuring, “Mr. Warren, about Sarah and the baby, I’d like to discuss something with you privately.”

Mr. Warren followed Kaleb out of the room.
