Atrophy of Love: Mr. Harris, Stop Fooling Around! novel Chapter 434

Mr. Logan was shocked and cautiously asked, “Mr. Harris, are you… okay?”

“I’m fine.” Charles took out a piece of tissue and wiped away the streaks of tears on his face as a menacing look loomed over his eyes.

Leah Jones… Huh!

-

The woman in the mirror was wearing a long white wedding gown, her features pretty and her body slender. There was nothing anyone could see by just looking at her facial features and beautiful appearance.

“Pass me the eyebrow pencil.” Leah was not satisfied with the edge of her right brow and asked for an eyebrow pencil from the makeup artist so she could shape the tail of her brow to be pointier.

When she finally decided that her brows were even, the corners of her mouth curled up into a smile as she returned the eyebrow pencil to the makeup artist. Then, she turned to the rest of the crew and said, “You’re done here, you can leave now.”

The makeup artist and the rest of them exchanged glances, and one of them asked, “As for the payment in arrear…”

“Are you worried that I won’t pay up?” Leah was in a good mood today so she was not as particular as she usually was. “If you don’t trust me, I can just transfer you the money right now.”

With that, she took out her phone and transferred the money into their accounts before dismissing them once again.

Then, she lifted her white skirt as she slowly walked out of the makeup room.

The few people before her had not gotten far and she could still hear their voices of discussion.

“What were you thinking, talking to Leah Jones with that tone? Don’t you want to live anymore?”

“Well, she’s not the young mistress of the Jones family anymore, what can she possibly do to me? What’s there to be afraid of!”

“You can’t say that. Look at her, have you forgotten how scheming she is? With a pig brain like yours, you probably wouldn’t even notice if someone had fooled you!”

“I just don’t get it. She’s beautiful and she comes from a good family, why is she so adamant about Charles Harris? If it’s me, I would have——”

“Shh, stop talking!”

Someone had turned around right then and noticed Leah standing behind them, then quickly warned her colleagues before the group quickly left the room.

Leah clenched her fists so hard her knuckles turned white.

She took a deep breath.

Today was a good day, she would not fuss about such a small matter with those people.

Leah recollected her emotions and the perfect smile spread across her face once again. She lifted her skirt as she continued toward the hall where the wedding ceremony would be held.

There was a red carpet, balloons, decorations, and a slideshow displayed on the huge screen right in front of the room… The rare pictures of her and Charles throughout the past few years.

There were also the self-taped recordings of blessings from people whom she paid to do so.

She had invested all the money she had earned from working together with Sylvia at this wedding ceremony.

According to her calculations, Charles should have discovered that she was the murderer… This was all finally coming to an end!

Leah no longer knew whether she wanted to marry Charles because she genuinely liked him or if it was the stubbornness deeply rooted within her.

However, it did not matter. No matter what, this was all ending soon.

She smiled to herself as she took her phone out and dialed Charles’ number. Her previous number had been blocked by him and this was her new number.

Just as she had expected, he did not answer the call as he did not recognize the unfamiliar number.

A bitter smile crept upon her lips as she called the media outlets. “Alright, you can release the video now.”

As soon as she hung up, she flipped through the news again, and her video had already made headlines.

#Former Heiress Turned Murderer, What Is Leah Jones’ Next Move#

As soon as she said this, there was a long pause before Charles said in a cold tone, “Send me your location.”

Again, just as she had expected. Leah smiled to herself and replied, “Alright, I’ll…”

Before she even finished her sentence, the call was already ended.

Leah stared at her empty phone screen, unsure if she felt hurt or if she was already numb to the disappointment. Before her wrongdoings were exposed, Charles had never been this harsh to her.

Now, however…

She bit her lips sorrowfully as she put her phone away.

It would not take long for Charles to come over with the police to bring her to jail, but… Her hand went to the sash around her waist as she grinned. It did not matter anymore.

Since it would take a while for Charles to get here, Leah contemplated for a moment before giving William a call. “Will…”

The second she opened her mouth to speak, she was interrupted by a furious growl from the other end of the phone. “You killed Sophia? How did I end up with a sister as malicious as you?”

The sentence sounded familiar. This was what her brother had said to her when he found out that she had set up the car accident back then.

“You framed Sophia for a crime she didn’t commit two years ago, and now two years later, you schemed against White Industries in the hopes of burning it to ashes. You were the one who wronged Sophia in the first place yet, yet you never repent, and even went so far as to kill her! Leah Jones, are you even human?!”

William almost roared when he got to the last sentence. Anger, grief, and disbelief interlaced his words and he was not sure what exactly did he feel right then.

“Will.” Leah’s eyes misted over as her body began to tremble lightly. “In your eyes, Sophia is more important than your sister, the sister whom you share the same blood with, is that right?”

Forget it if Charles favored Sophia over her, but why was her own brother the same as well?

“It’s not the matter of who’s more important, Leah, you killed someone, for f*ck’s sake! Do you still know what’s right and wrong?” He could barely recognize this sister of his anymore!

Leah tugged her lips as tears rolled down her cheeks.
