Atrophy of Love: Mr. Harris, Stop Fooling Around! novel Chapter 430

“Yvette!” Sylvia wanted to ask Yvette for help but she could not even turn her head. “The Cox family serves the army, how can you just watch Charles commit crimes like this?”

Yvette merely cast a brief glance at her. If it was not for the fact that she feared the person backing Sylvia up, she would certainly not interfere if Charles tried to kill her.

“What are you talking about? My brothers and I don’t see anything.”

As long as Charles did not kill anyone, she would not meddle in this. This was the least she could do for Soph now.

Without a single hesitation, the fruit knife in Charles’ hand pierced into Sylvia’s face and she screamed in pain, trying to break free from his grasp.

However, his grip around her was as steady as a rock, and he did not even flinch. Within seconds, he had carved the word ‘evil b*tch’ on her face.

The scene was so gory that the doctor and nurses could not bring themselves to even look. Although their job revolved around blood and cutting people up, it was for surgery, completely different from what Charles was doing right now.

They had the courage to pick up a scalpel and remove a patient’s diseased kidney, but they would never have the nerve to stab an ordinary person.

Although Sterling was always involved in fights, he was never this violent.

However, he quickly came around, the fear and shock replaced with a new sense of delight.

“Shut up!” Sterling kicked Sylvia before he crouched down beside Charles. “Charles, I’ll hold her head still so you can focus on doing your thing, maybe carve a turtle on her cheek while you’re at it!”

They should let this b*tch be so ashamed to even go out next time so she would not hurt anyone else!

Charles ignored him as Sylvia continued struggling beneath his hand. He merely stepped on her arm and continued with his work on her face.

It did not take long before crisscrossing blood marks appeared on Sylvia’s face. She was in so much pain that she broke into a cold sweat, but the physical pain was nowhere near the agony she felt in her chest.

How long would it take for these scars to heal?

If they did not heal, she would never be able to face anyone for the rest of her life!

“Charles, have you lost your mind? Sophia is lying to you! She suspected that you convinced her mother to kill herself and she tried to seek revenge by stealing your company’s projects… Mmph!”

Sterling did not want to hear another word from her, and so he removed a shoe to stuff it in her mouth. “Shut up! How dare you still defame Soph after killing her!”

Just as he spoke, someone barged in through the door. A team of military personnel entered the room, followed by a dozen SWAT officers.

These people were clearly Sylvia’s men. As soon as they came into the room, they surrounded Charles and the rest of them.

“Stop what you’re doing and put your hands up in the air!”

Yvette was shocked when she saw the familiar faces standing around her in the room. They were the Cox family’s political rivals, and now that the Cox family members were ignorant of Charles who was blatantly committing a crime before their eyes, they would certainly not let this slip so easily.

Sure enough, the leader of the team glanced at the Cox family brothers and said in a solemn tone, “Not only are you turning a blind eye on Charles who is committing a crime, you’re being an accessory by helping him as well.”

“Please come along with me now as we will launch an investigation with the court-martial. We have reasons to suspect that the Cox family is using power for personal gains, bullying people, and extending influence inappropriately.”

The Cox brothers could not defend themselves as the other team had witnessed Charles’ crimes firsthand as well, knowing it would only worsen their situation. They exchanged a look and nodded their head cooperatively before raising their hands.

However, as if he had heard nothing, Charles continued carving Sylvia’s face as Sterling held Sylvia down.

General Wilson gave his subordinates a signaling look and motioned them to subdue Charles and Sterling.

“Stop spouting nonsense now, hurry up and come with us!” They were just two young men, there was nothing to be scared of! General Wilson suppressed the fear that rose in his chest and signaled his subordinates to detain Charles and Sterling.

Just as the military officers were about to touch Sterling, Charles spoke, “I did all this, he had nothing to do with this.”

“Who are you to say who is involved in this? I saw him restraining Ms. Yates myself just now!” General Wilson had been annoyed with Charles for a very long time now.

In fact, he had suffered several losses by this young man’s hands!

“I forced him to do it,” Charles replied simply.

Sterling was one of the few people whom Sophia cared most about. If he was unable to protect her, the least he could do was to ensure the people she loved most to be kept out of harm’s way!

“Do you think I can’t tell whether he did it willingly or by force?” Charles was already a suspect being investigated for involvement in human experiments and inappropriate use of power, but how could he still behave so arrogantly?

Since Sterling already dared to do it in the first place, he was not afraid of admitting to it. He did not want Charles to suffer on his behalf, but just as he was about to speak up, Charles spoke first.

“Either you listen to me and take me away, or I will kill both Sylvia and Jax before I go with you. It’s up to you to decide.”

General Wilson did not appreciate being threatened by someone as old as his own son, and he was extremely aggravated. “Are you threatening me?”

“I’m just telling you a fact.” Charles reached for the fruit knife again and stared back at General Wilson coolly.

General Wilson looked at the blood-stained knife and Sterling before he gritted his teeth and said, “Alright, since you want to play hero yourself so badly, I’ll fulfill your dream then! Get his knife and take him away with his uncles!”

With that, he grunted at Sterling before storming out of the room.
