Atrophy of Love: Mr. Harris, Stop Fooling Around! novel Chapter 421

Three minutes passed but nobody answered the door.

Nicole pursed her lips as the uneasiness in her chest increased even more. Just as she was wondering to herself if she knew anyone who had connections with the police, her phone rang.

It was Charles calling.

She quickly answered the phone, and Charles’ cold voice immediately sounded from the other end. “Where are you? Is Sophia with you?”

“No… I was just about to call the police.”

-

A somber look flashed across Charles’ eyes and he hung up the phone right away. Then, he called the team of bodyguards.

However, every single number he dialed was an unrecognized number.

His grandmother had made a move and went against her previous plan. She had taken Sophia away but he had no idea what her plan was.

Charles gripped his phone tightly as a vein surfaced on his forehead.

He should not have agreed with Sophia and played along with Sylvia’s plan to bait the bigger fish!

If anything was to happen to Sophia, he would not let go of Sylvia Yates even if she was his paternal grandmother!

The tension in the air thickened in the car, and it was getting quite unnerving.

The driver had no clue what was happening, but he was shocked when he saw the look on Charles’ face when he looked in the rearview window. “Mr… Mr. Harris, where are we going now?”

“My grandmother’s place.” Although Charles’ expression seemed as cool as usual, there was an unprecedented look in his eyes that resembled a stormy sea, and every word that came out of his mouth was domineering and powerful.

The driver quickly replied and dared not say another word as he started the car toward Sylvia’s villa.

On the way over, he called his two uncles and had them bring their men over to Sylvia’s villa.

The car finally came to a stop in front of the villa and Charles got down the car expressionless. He made his way straight into the villa, his driver trailing behind him closely.

“Mr. Harris?” The maid was quite shocked when she saw him. “Please have a seat in the living room, I’ll go get Ms. Yates now.”

Charles did not even look at her as he entered the room. With a cold look on his face, he grabbed an antique flower vase and threw it on the floor.

Then, he proceeded to the next flower vase that was in sight without even blinking.

The maid was so frightened she was almost dumbfounded. Seeing that he was about to break another vase, she quickly stopped him. “Mr. Harris, Ms. Yates bought this vase on an auction for almost several million. She loves this vase the most too.”

“This is her favorite?” Charles asked coldly as he raised the vase.

Every strand of hair on her body was standing on its end, and the maid was so frightened that she had broken into a cold sweat. She stuttered as she answered Charles’ question, “Yes, Ms. Yates loves this vase the most. There are a few other accessories as well as antiques that she auctioned, but she usually likes this…”

Before she could finish her sentence, Charles snorted and threw the vase to the ground before turning to the items the maid had pointed out.

These were all made of porcelain so once they hit the ground, they were gone!

If Ms. Yates were to find out that she was the one who specifically told Mr. Harris her favorites, she was certainly done for.

The maid’s eyes turned red as tears brimmed the edge of her eyes. “Mr. Harris, these…”

“Scram!” Charles’ snapped at her coldly, the look in his eyes so menacing it felt as if demons and cursed souls that crawled out from the deepest depths of hell were staring back at her, so penetrating that it felt as if his glare had pierced through her bones.

Jax’s tailbone hurt from the fall but he could not care less. His hand went to his throat as he coughed violently. He really thought he was going to die!

“Honey, are you okay?” Sylvia squatted down and patted him on the back worriedly.

Jax clutched his throat as he panted for air greedily in between the coughs. He was choking so much he could barely speak.

“Where is Sophia?” Charles looked down at them, his red eyes filled with contempt and hatred. “Grandmother, you better think before you speak or else…”

He sneered as his gaze landed on Jax. I will make him suffer so bad he wish he was dead!”

“How dare you?!” Sylvia jumped up and shrieked at him furiously.

Charles snorted and kicked Jax, who had struggled very much to get up, back to the floor. He stomped with his leather shoes on Jax and said, “You can try me and see whether I dare to.”

Did she think she was the only one who knew how to threaten people?

Sylvia lost her poise for a brief moment but she quickly recovered. “I don’t even know Sophia personally, I only know about her because of you. Why are you here to see me now that she has disappeared?”

She was still as graceful and poised as before, but the red handprint on her cheek made her seem quite pathetic.

Charles never asked a question more than three times. Seeing how she was playing dumb now, Charles bent over and picked up a broken shard as he grabbed Jax once again.

“What are you doing?!” Sylvia could not remain calm when she saw this.

However, Charles simply ignored her as he kept a hand strangling Jax’s neck, and his other hand with the broken shard reached to Jax’s throat.

“Charles, have you lost your mind? He’s your grandfather!” Sylvia came over and tried to pull Charles away but he did not budge at all.
