Everyone was stunned.
Madam Jones instantly got up from her seat. “Dad? Dad, what’s wrong?”
“What… What’s happening? Tiffany was in shock as well, and when she finally came around, she threw herself on Master Lewis and began crying. “Honey, what’s going on? Wake up!”
She had worked so hard to climb to where she was right now. If this old man died right now, she would have to go back to her miserable life before this!
No, he could not die! She could not let this old man die!
“You idiots, what are you doing just staring? Hurry up and call us an ambulance!” Tiffany shrieked at everyone around them. “You were the ones who invited us for dinner tonight! I’ll never forgive any of you if anything happens to my husband!”
Madam Jones could not be bothered by Tiffany’s rudeness either. She turned to Leah and urged, “Leah, call 999! Something must have happened to your grandfather! Oh no, what are we going to do?”
Even Master Jones who had always had a calm composure was quite frantic.
“Don’t worry, it’ll all be alright. I’m sure he just passed out, stop being so worried,” Leah said softly as she looked around.
Mr. Jones and Master Jones both exchanged a knowing look as if they suddenly realized something. “Leah, are you sure he’ll be fine?”
“Yeah, it’s just sleeping pills,” Leah simply replied.
Madam Jones was taken aback by her response. “Why did you drug your grandfather?”
“No reason. Grandpa Lewis hasn’t been able to sleep recently and he refuses to take sleeping pills, I’m just helping him out,” Leah replied gently.
Tiffany immediately stopped crying and darted toward Leah. “You stupid b*tch, what are you trying to do? Are you planning to kill my husband so you can finally fight me?!”
She reached out her hand to slap Leah.
Leah easily stepped aside and clapped her hands twice. Four strong, burly men instantly strode into the room and grabbed Tiffany.
“Let me go! D*mn it! Let me go, you idiots!” Tiffany shrieked as she struggled desperately. “F*ck you, you b*tch! Once my husband wakes up, he’ll never forgive you for this!”
Leah removed one of the chair covers and scrunched it up before stuffing it into Tiffany’s mouth.
“All of you saw it as well just now, Grandpa Lewis was completely dazed by this woman. She’s bound to drag both Lewis and Jones families down sooner or later. If we keep her by our side, she’ll surely cause us disaster.”
Leah had always put on a false pretense in front of her family because she was worried that they would not like the real her, but after this incident, she finally realized that her family would always prioritize benefits and profits over anything else.
Mr. Jones and Master Jones looked at each other once again and discussed with each other under their breaths.
“A waiter spiked the wine and all of us passed out. By the time we came around, Miss Lawrence was already gone. Perhaps she was abducted by an enemy of some sorts,” Master Jones gave a dry cough as he said slowly.
Leah smiled in response. “Go ahead with the celebration, I’ll go find the kidnappers.”
With that, she turned around and left the room while the men followed behind her with Tiffany in their arms.
“Leah, what kidnappers are you talking about? I didn’t see anything! Leah, you…” Madam Jones had completely no idea what they were talking about and she got up from her seat, intending to follow after Leah.
Mr. Jones stopped her. “If you don’t want to see that stepmother of yours anymore in the future, don’t ask any more questions.”
Madam Jones glanced at the old man who was passed out on the table and sat back down. With her chopsticks back in hand, she continued eating.
That dirty little sl*t had embarrassed her on so many occasions, it would be a dream come true if she did not have to see that b*tch anymore!

“I haven’t seen you in over ten years. Charles, you look so much like your grandfather now.” Sylvia put down her phone, and with a smile on her face, she reached out for his hand.
Charles easily moved his hand out of reach and asked straightaway, “What’s the matter?”
He rarely truly hated someone, but his paternal grandmother was one of them.
“I’m your grandmother regardless of what you think, is this how you speak to your elders?” Sylvia snorted. “That mother of yours looks down on me because she thinks that I didn’t teach my son well, but did she do her job herself?”
Charles’ expression darkened as he replied, “You slept with my grandfather for money and sold my father to the Harris family. Did it occur to you that you might not be considered an elder of mine when you left?”
Jax sighed gently. “Charles, you can’t say that.
“Your grandmother truly liked your grandfather back then. In fact, that’s why she was willing to be drugged and abandoned just to be with your grandfather. Just like how Ms. White likes you and married you despite all the differences, it’s because of love.
“As for why she divorced your grandfather, it’s because…”
Charles could not accept that Jax had just compared Sophia to his grandmother and interrupted him mid-sentence. “Shut up! Who are you to have a say in this?”
Jax instantly froze as embarrassment and anger crept upon his face.
“Charles, he’s your elder as well.” One should at least find out who the master was before beating the dog. By doing so, Charles clearly did not respect her at all!
Charles’ lips twitched slightly as he sneered. “What a time to be alive, I can’t believe some random people can call themselves my elders just because they’re older than me.”
This was obviously an indirect shot at Jax.
Jax’s face was sullen as he said, “It’s only natural for a young man to act so frivolously, but as your elder, let me advise you this. Don’t think too highly of yourself, otherwise, you’re not too far away from death.”
