Atrophy of Love: Mr. Harris, Stop Fooling Around! novel Chapter 350

“Someone has been maliciously spreading gossip about my girlfriend and she’s feeling really down. If there are no other matters from all of you, I’ll be making a move first.” Charles nodded slightly at everyone and turned to leave.

Luna stood up and called out to him, “Wait!”

“Aunt Luna, is there something else?” Charles asked.

She was about to say something when Charles voiced out, “If you feel jealous about me having 25 percent of the shares, there’s nothing much I can do about it.

“I personally think that I deserve it for doing so much for the company. Besides, these shares won’t be taken from you, isn’t that right?”

Oscar stood up and gave his older sister a look, hinting at her to stop talking. “Your Aunt Luna called out to you to remind you to take good care of Miss White since she’s pregnant now.”

“Of course, I will. Goodbye,” Charles strode away in wide strides after saying this.

He left the rest sitting in the living room, occupied with their own thoughts.

Bamboo Virtues Village.

Sophia followed Nicole’s instructions and clicked the chat records open to read them.

It was filled with the chat records of her mom and a netizen named ‘Someone To Solve Your Anxiety’.

They had started chatting about a month ago. They did not chat every day, only when Jenny was in a terrible mood. That was when she would start chatting with that person, and once she started, she would say a lot.

When Sophia read that Jenny told the netizen, ‘My daughter and son are disgusted with me now and even my husband thinks I’m frustrating. I have no one to speak to at all. You’re the only one I can talk to’, it made Sophia feel quite terrible inside.

She tried to repress that horrible emotion within her to continue reading through the chat records. They were basically all about Jenny pouring her heart out while the other party gave her guidance.

Nothing seemed out of the ordinary.

[Sophia] Is there something wrong with these chat records?

[Nicole] Take a look at these screenshots and ask me again.

Nicole sent over three or four more screenshots. Sophia clicked them open and found that Someone To Solve Your Anxiety had been hinting directly and indirectly at her mom not to accept treatment.

The last chat record between them got Sophia frowning tightly…

[Someone To Solve Your Anxiety] Actually, this is nothing but a common thought among housewives. This isn’t depression at all. It’s just something that has been exaggerated by psychologists.

[Jenny Fisher] I don’t think I have any mental illness either, but my family insists on me getting treatment. I had two psychologists diagnose me previously with serious depression. My daughter is introducing another one to me today. I don’t want her to worry.

[Someone To Solve Your Anxiety] This should be easy. I’m a psychologist myself and I know this topic really well. Let me share a file with you. Take a good read and answer accordingly when the psychologist is here. Once you do that, he won’t diagnose you with depression.

When Nicole felt that Sophia was more or less done with reading the chat records, she forwarded a file to Sophia as well.

The file contained a lot of content. To summarize them, it was about teaching others how to avoid being diagnosed with depression.

Sophia felt her limbs and heart go ice-cold when she was done reading them.

Her hands trembled as she held her phone while typing out a message.

[Sophia] This person is stopping Mom from getting treatment on purpose. After Mom died, Leah used Mom’s passing to make a big deal of it. No matter how I look at it, it seems like either this person is Leah or someone hired by Leah. Why would you suspect Charles?

There was no reply for quite a while after the message was sent.

Sophia wanted to call and ask Nicole about it, but after she searched for Nicole’s number, she changed her mind again… She was a little afraid to find out the reason.

Sophie tossed the phone aside and laid down on her bed. She felt a pain sear through her and suddenly remembered the wound on her back.

Sophia turned to lay down on her belly instead. Her emotions were in a mess.

“… It’s okay,” Sophia held in the pain she felt on her back and sat up from lying on her belly with a neutral expression.

The wound on her back had not been taken care of, and there was an indistinct bloodstain on her shirt. He brought over the first aid kit and got her to take off her shirt as he helped her take care of the wound.

Master Harris did not hold back when he was beating her. The wound spread from her left shoulder all the way to her right waist. If the wound needed to be tended, she had to take off her bra as well.

Sophia was not prepared to face him with her naked upper body at this stage. Her body stiffened as she said, “The wound is quite small in the middle, it’s okay if it’s not tended to…”

Click!

Charles undid the hooks on her bra and threw it to the side.

Sophia immediately covered her breasts with her hands as she felt a sudden chill on her body.

“Where haven’t I touched and caressed you on your body, hmm?” Charles sat behind her, saying the words as his lips brushed both intentionally and unintentionally across her fair, tender ears.

The body of a pregnant woman was especially sensitive.

A wet sensation could be felt on her ears as Sophia instinctively tried to avoid him by moving to the side while blinking rapidly.

Charles’ gaze paused on her fair, tender skin that was now filled with criss-crossed wounds. The look in his eyes turned a little deep and serene. They looked like they had two little flames burning within them.

He forced himself to turn his gaze away as he focused on tending to the wound on her back.

Even though he had done his best to be as gentle as possible, Sophia still took in a deep, cold breath from the pain. Sweat had started beading on her forehead.

“I’m sorry.” Charles helped her take care of her wound properly and hugged her from behind. His voice was very soft, as if he was talking to something that would break easily.

Sophia’s heart skipped a beat as she turned to say, “It’s o… Mmm!”

She had only managed one word when he kissed her on the lips.
