Charles did not reply immediately but stared straight at her. When he saw that she seemed to be telling the truth, he finally nodded in agreement.
Sophia felt even more terrible when he acted this way.
It did not matter who was in the right or wrong back then, the Charles now was sincerely prioritizing her in everything.
She licked her dry lips and hesitated once more before saying, “Charles, actually, just now…”
The phone rang.
It was for Charles.
He picked up the call and listened silently for a while before answering ‘okay’ and hanging up.
“I need to handle something at the office. I have to stop by. Take your bath and have an early night.” He kissed her on the forehead, put on his coat, and left hurriedly.
Sophia touched the warmth left behind on her forehead as she sat on the sofa frowning. Her wound touched the sofa seat by accident. She took in a chilling, deep breath in pain.
Master Harris was quite vicious with his actions. She wondered how Charles had managed to get through it all these years!
Beep.
Beep.
Beep.
Her phone vibrated quite a few times.
Sophia picked up the phone and saw that Nicole had sent dozens of chat records via WeChat.

When Charles left the house, he did not head to Harris Corporation. Instead, he drove to his Aunt Luna’s place.
Oscar said in astonishment when he heard this, “25 percent? My shares plus both of Charles’ brothers add up to only a little more than 10 percent. Was Dad joking when he said to put together 25 percent for Charles?”
Lena replied, “Nope”
Charles drank his tea calmly, allowing them to speak freely while he said nothing.
“Alan, stop making us guess. Is this really true?” Oscar asked Charles’ dad gently.
Alan took out his phone and replied to a message from someone with the contact name saved as ‘Little Seductress’. He replied after putting away his phone, “I may be Charles’ dad, but all of you should be aware that this kid of mine has always been an opinionated one. His decisions are out of my hands.”
“Alan, what do you mean by this?” Luna asked as she frowned.
Alan smiled and leaned back onto the sofa. “I don’t mean anything. If there’s anything you’d like to ask, you should direct the question to the person involved. Don’t come questioning me just because you don’t want to offend him.”
“You…” Luna stood up with an extremely unhappy look on her face.
