Alpha's Second Chance novel Chapter 288

ALPHA LOUIS

My mate, Son, and daughter were unusually quiet when we walked back to where Queen Olivia had put my family to stay. I am sure that they think I don’t know, but I do, and I’m tempted to say I know more than they do.

I felt it yesterday morning when my oldest daughter, Juliette, woke up from her coma-like state. And I felt when she and her new mate marked each other about 30 minutes after we had arrived. This is why I say I know more than my family thinks I do. I can even feel that Juliette’s new mate is a girl.

So yes, I was not surprised when we stepped into the very nice house they had given us to stay at. I looked at the girl next to Juliette. She was a beautiful girl, but what I noticed the most was the smile on my beautiful daughter's face.

“Dad, I missed you.” Juliette says and hurries over to hug me.

“My beautiful daughter, seeing you awake and happy is so good,” I tell her, hugging her back tightly.

“Did you know?” Jeanne asks.

“I felt her wake up, and not long ago, she was marked,” I say, smiling at my mate.

“And you understand that, her mate.” She begins.

“Is a girl, yes, I know. Jeanne, I thought you knew I would never question the moon goddess.” I tell her gently and turn back to Juliette and the young woman.

“I am happy for you, and it is a blessing to meet you,” I say, looking at the woman.

“Gina, Alpha.” She says.

“Welcome to the family, Gina,” I tell her and give her a hug.

“Thank you, Alpha Louis.” She says.

“Please call me Louis. Or dad.” I tell her.

MADELEINE

I was shocked that Dad already knew, but I think it was also good. I looked at Juliette and Gina, saw the marks on their necks, and that’s when I knew.

I grabbed Noah’s hand and dragged him out of the house. This conversation I didn’t want anyone to listen to me. I kept walking, pulling him with me until we reached the forest, and I looked at him.

“That is amazing.”

He showed me around, and the TV room was the perfect size for a nice relaxing time. And the kitchen looked like it had never been used, which it probably had not been. The bathroom was stunning, with a big shower but also a big bathtub. Last, he showed me the bedroom, and it was huge.

I stood in the middle of the room, spinning around slowly. Along the wall, furthest away, is a huge bed, bigger than a king-sized bed. It is in black wood, with tall bedposts going to the ceiling with black and blood-red bedcovers. The walls were in a dark grayish color, and the three doors were black. Wait, three doors?

“This door is my closet.” He tells me. He walks over to the last door.

“And this is yours.” He says, opening it for me to walk inside.

“It is huge,” I say as I look in the room. That is my closet, but it also has room for my makeup table and much more.

I feel him behind me, and I shiver with excitement when he kisses the back of my neck.

“It is all yours.” He whispers as he starts kissing the side of my neck.
