The phone rang, and Adrian’s friend Benjamin stepped forward to pick it up. Seeing the name on the contact, he frowned slightly.

“Adrian’s been in trouble for so long, and only now calling–how heartless.”

Benjamin looked toward the hospital bed where Adrian lay covered in injuries and connected to medical equipment, then answered coldly:
