Ferris vaguely remembered something about five years ago.

He remembered their wedding, when he left Aurora alone on their wedding fight.

He remembered when Aurora’s mother passed away, she was covered in tear while he showed no concern whatsoever.

Ferris wanted to remember more, but his head hurt even worse.

He could only stop trying to remember and looked toward Mary: “Mary, I can promise you that.”

Mary was stunned, then heard Ferris say: “I won’t watch the person I like many another man. I promise I’ll change, I’ll definitely be good fo her, and I’ll never hurt her again.”

But Mary didn’t believe his lies: “Your current change is only because you can see. If you were fine, you wouldn’t be good to her at all”

Ferris couldn’t argue. He now knew that only by letting Mary see his change with her own eyes would she believe him.

Mary was too angry to talk to Ferris anymore and went back to her room alone

Ferris hadn’t eaten since returning home. With Aurora not back and remembering what the caregiver said before leaving – that she might not return for several days.

Ferris picked up his phone and called her.

Meanwhile, I was already on my way to bail Leo out. After bailing him out, I went to find Cynthia.

We were eating when I saw Ferris calling. I immediately made an excuse to go outside and answer.

“What is it?”

“Where are you now?” Ferris got straight to the point.

I didn’t want to tell him: “Where I am is none of your business. Take care of yourself these few days. I hired a caregiver to look after Mary. I’ll be back in a few days.”

While listening to me speak, Ferris had someone directly trace the IP address of my phone call.

“Then be careful and safe. If anything happens, remember to call me. Also, it’s cold now, don’t get frozen…”

Before Ferris could finish, Cynthia poked her head out. I immediately hung up

I found that Ferris was becoming more and more nagging lately.

Cynthia lowered her voice and asked: “Ferris?“”

I nodded.

Cynthia wanted to help too, but her lawyer’s license had been revoked.

I nodded: “I have something in my hands. With it, Edward and Nigel won’t get anything.”

“What is it?” Cynthia asked curiously.

“My mother’s will.” I answered.

Before my mother died, worried that I would be bullied by my father and others, she secretly made another will.

The will stated that I could take all of her inheritance.

This will had always been in my possession. I had never taken it out before, because if I did, the will Edward held would have no legal effect.

Back then, I still harbored some ridiculous fantasy about fatherly love and didn’t want to take the assets from my father and brother.

Another reason was that even if I produced the will, without any backing power, it wouldn’t be recognized.

But now it was different. I was no longer the soft–hearted little girl from before. If Edward and the others pushed too hard, I wasn’t afraid to stand in court and confront them.

Just then, the doorbell rang.

Cynthia looked over puzzled: “We didn’t order takeout. Who’s ringing the bell I’ll go check.”

She put on slippers and got up to look. Through the peephole, she saw someone wearing a mask and hat standing at the door.

“Who are you?”

Ashley removed her mask.

“Ashley!” Cynthia looked shocked. She didn’t open the door but returned to the living room to tell me.

I frowned: “What is she here for?”

Since Ashley’s video was exposed worldwide a few months ago, neither Cynthia nor I had heard any news about her.

Cynthia’s expression was somewhat strange: “She just said she came to apologize.”

After Ashley entered, she looked at me sitting on the sofa. No matter what, she couldn’t bring herself to bow to me.

Just then, Hazel’s impatient voice came through her earpiece:
