Estelle's POV
Brandon finally let go of my neck and he got up with a paper cutter stuck in his chest. I was shaking all over as Brandon fell to the ground covering his chest. My mind was in a tizzy and I just wanted to get away from here without anyone finding out. So I jumped out of his window onto his backyard's lawn, where a motorcycle was still parked. Luckily the key was still inserted in the car and I escaped Brandon's house by motorcycle.
I was alone on the highway at night, and the whistling wind blew past my ears. My hands were sticky with blood as I gripped the grip, and I wasn't sure if it was Brandon's blood or mine. I could feel a tingling sensation in my palm, probably from grabbing the knife. But the tension in my heart made me about to explode. I should have known I shouldn't have gone to his birthday party. Even if he would have expelled me from the wolf pack, I would have been in a much better position than I was at the point.
I didn't know how long it had been, finally, I pulled up in a wooded area. The cold breeze cleared my mind a little and now my fear was only slowly subsiding. My God, what had I done? The scene of Brandon's collapsing in the blood earlier came back to me. I shouldn't have stabbed him with a knife, but God damn it he was going to rape me! I buried my face in my own palm, the moon goddess was on top, I hope he's healed enough, I don't want to be a murderer.
Brandon is of Alpha blood, a stabbing should be nothing to him. Someone will find him and take him to the hospital. I told myself that in the back of my mind. As I was feeling anxious and remorseful about my actions, I was completely unaware that a man had come up behind me.
"What are you doing here?" A low male voice sounded behind me. I turned around to see a figure that shocked me.
Those deep sea-like eyes stared dead at me, and the goose bumps on my body were immediately stirred up. Run! The only thought that came to my mind was to run immediately at the moment. I took a step back and the man seemed to understand my intentions right away as he approached me and grabbed my wrist. The moment he grabbed me, my body trembled.
"Don't kill me." All I could hear was the sound squeezing out of my throat.
The man widened his eyes a little, then he let go of my hand. "I'm not going to kill you. Answer my question, why are you here?"
"I..." I didn't know how to talk to the man, he was the most dangerous person I had ever met. And I had just escaped from our wolf pack, I didn't even know where I was now.
The man sighed and he asked me, "Do you know where you are now?"
I shook my head at him, as my mind went blank.
"You are now in the Eclipse wolf pack territory." The man patiently explained to me, and I was amazed that his attitude was completely different from before. "How did you get here?"
"I don't know." My mind wandered elsewhere as to whether he'd be offended if I said I'd come by motorcycle.
"Forget it! Come with me!" The man gave up the conversation with me, then he took two steps forward and signaled me to follow him.
I nodded to him, it didn't look like he wanted to kill me right now. And I could guarantee I couldn't outrun a notorious Alpha, so I followed him. The woods were dark, and I didn't have as good eyesight as normal werewolves did. So the path stumbled for me, and the men probably couldn't stand the speed at which I was going.
"Pull me." A long, strong hand reached out to me.
I didn't know if this is an order or what, but it's better not to disobey him. I put my hand on the man's hand and he pulled me forward. The night was cold and overcast in the woods, and the warmth passing through my hand gave me a strange sense of reassurance. What was I thinking? I wasn't even sure where the man was taking me, maybe he was taking me to imprisonment. I didn't know how much of the rumors about the Legion were true, but I was in his hands then.
"Get in." The man let go of my hand and pointed toward the Aston Martin on the side of the road.
I could now be sure he was the Alpha of the Eclipse wolf pack. I carefully got into his car, and it was nice that it didn't smell like sterile water or blood.
I kept looking out from the car and the Eclipse wolves were doing so much better than I thought they would. They took over the best city in the neighborhood. There were many rumors that the city they took over was full of hooligans and trash, but in my opinion, they were even much better than our wolf pack. The buildings and streets were neat and clean, and even though it's the middle of the night, there were still people walking busily in the streets.
But I could understand why they had so many rumors. When we entered the city just now, the security in charge of the guards was very strict. If their Alpha hadn't taken me personally, I wouldn't have been able to get a step closer to their city. No one really knew what they were like, but they didn't bother to communicate with the outside world either.
The man pulled up to a lakeside villa and told me to get out of the car. I was willing to listen to the man when I found out that the rumors of the Legion were not as scary as they were said to be. The joy of coming back from death relaxed me, but then the man took me to his bedroom.
Lance's POV
I felt that girl again, Estelle. I knew she was my mate the first time I saw her. It was then that she broke into my territory and I found her.
But Estelle didn't seem to know anything, she just stood there frozen in place. From the moment I knew she was my mate, I decided to kill her. It was the only path I could choose. But when I felt the girl's life drain from my hands, what puzzled me was that I didn't even feel her wolf until she was on the verge of death.
I stopped immediately and the girl had passed out. If she didn't have a wolf... An indescribable feeling welled up in my heart. Eventually I sent the girl back to her wolf pack, hoping she would stay away from me, preferably without seeing me again.
Since that night, I sent someone from my family to spy on her wolf pack And find out about her information and experience by the way. Her name is Estelle, a girl who lost her mother at a young age and has a twin brother. She's a month away from reaching adulthood, but didn't have a wolf of her own yet. Estelle is just a normal girl, and that's fine. No one in the world would know that we are mates, and the girl's fate is still in her own hands.
My men helped Estelle with a little "trouble" in the middle of it. I didn't order them to kill anyone, it would have been bad for her if this had gone too far.
Then two days ago, my Beta, Ethan, went to a northern wolf pack exchange conference without my knowledge.
"That's why I don't want to hang out with them. I rarely say this, but Ethan, I order you, you are not to go near Estelle again. You know why I don't want to tell anyone about this." I said to Ethan in a serious tone.
"Yes, my Alpha, I know." He put away his smile and bowed his head to accept my order.
I thought this would be the end of the story, but I felt my mate again tonight. I followed the faint scent of orange blossoms to Estelle, who was standing in the woods, just as I had first met her. I hadn't meant to startle her, but when I got closer, Estelle still looked flustered.
She was afraid I would kill her, and that was my fault. No one would be comfortable with someone who was going to kill you the first time they see you. I tried to calm her down as much as I could, she shouldn't be here. Our wolf pack's territory wasn't too close to their pack. I didn't know why she always showed up in my territory at night.
Finally Estelle dropped her guard on me, or rather she didn't relax at all and just took my hand by survival instinct. The tips of her fingers were cold and I felt a little guilty, so I pulled her hand tighter. I didn't know if taking her back to my house was a good option right now, but there was no way I was going to just leave her in the woods.
Estelle was silent the whole way home, stronger than any wolf I'd ever met. Especially as a girl without wolves. And Estelle didn't show much surprise at the rumors about our wolf pack. She was a very special person and I became a little interested in her, but it was all limited to just curiosity.
I couldn't put Estelle in another room, it would be too dangerous for her if she wandered off and was found by others. I took her back to her bedroom.
"Do you want to take a shower?" The cold touch of her fingers remained in my hand.
"No." Estelle stood in the doorway of the room, clutching her collar with her hand. I didn't know why she misunderstood me.
"I'm not going to do anything to you. You look so cold and you'd better take a hot shower."
Estelle shook her head, and I gave up trying to convince her. "Sit down." I offered her a cup of black tea. "I'm not supposed to drink tea at night, but this is the only hot drink in my room."
Estelle took it with both hands and whispered "Thank you!" to me.
She and I just sat there, the silence punctuated by the sound of her drinking tea. My nose always caught the aroma of orange blossoms on her, which was not a good situation. Was this the influence of a mate? I was a person with strong self-control, and since two years ago, my wolf had been kept inside my head. But lately he always challenged the confinement, and I wondered if he was also influenced by his mate.
"Don't run around." I said this to Estelle and shut myself into the bathroom, hoping the door would keep out the smell of orange blossoms.
But I had just taken off my clothes and turned on the hot water when I heard the door lock, immediately, I put on a towel and walked out of the bathroom. Sure enough, there was no one on the couch, and I was now seriously considering whether to tie Estelle up.
