Estelle's POV
"Are you okay?" The man across the cardboard box asked me, and his gentle voice was like a mellow cup of cocoa, flowing like a warm stream into my stomach.
"It's okay! Sorry, I wasn't watching the road carefully."
"No need to apologize to me." The man waved his hand. He looked into my face, his brown eyes revealing kindness. "You're hurt?"
I hurriedly touched my face and then felt a little wetness at the corner of my mouth. It was from Hailey last night, and I didn't know why the corner of my mouth had been torn again. I said to the man, "It's okay, it's a wound from before."
Then the man rummaged in his pocket for something, he took out a small jar and handed it to me "This is the medicine for trauma, wipe it on the wound. A girl with such a beautiful face should be well protected."
The man's eyebrows were stretched and he had a very sunny smile. I blushed at his words and I took the medicine from his hand. His hands were warm and dry.
"Thanks." I said to the man, my palms sweating slightly as I gripped the jar of medicine.
After the men left I hurriedly took out my phone to look at my face and sure enough the corner of my mouth was still bleeding. My face was very pale from my injuries, and my blue eyes only looked translucent in the sunlight. I was also wearing a wide black sweatshirt and my long brown hair was casually resting on my chest. I didn't feel myself good-looking, but the man's words still made my ears burn red.
I held the box and put it on the shelf in the logistics department. The man should be a participant from another wolf pack, I thought. He had such a calm demeanor, and I didn't feel the Alpha's intimidation from him. And what kind of Alpha would waear a knit shirt to the exchange conference? I forgot to ask his name. I should have had the chance to thank him properly.
The logistics department suddenly got together. I was going to slip away, but I was called by a supervisor.
"What are you doing there?"
"I..." I didn't know how to explain that I was just called over as a hard worker.
"Forget it, hurry up and get into the line, the exchange will start soon." The supervisor took me for a logistical person, and I scrambled to squeeze into their line.
This was the first time I saw the scene of the exchange, and usually the people invited to the scene were the important people of the wolf pack. And doing logistics was the only chance that can let ordinary people in, so there were many volunteers who signed up as logistics staff every time.
We all looked at the seats of the Alphas towering over us in the distance, they exuded a different aura than the ones around them. The Alphas rarely communicated with each other, most of their eyes gazing at their pack's representative. Our pack's representative was Brandon, who was a jerk, but he was also our future Alpha. Many of the representatives here were Alpha's children, and it was undeniable that they were just a little bit stronger than the average person.
"Come here!" The supervisor waved at me. I walked up to him and he put a pile of papers in my hands. "This is the list of the competition, every Alpha has to have a copy, take it up quickly."
I was pushed to the front by the supervisor holding the papers and there were many logisticians looking at me with unsatisfied eyes. They all wanted to take advantage of this time to make Alpha remember his face, I guess, but that wasn't what I wanted either, and I had wanted to run away for a long time.
I bowed my head and carefully placed the papers on each table, and then a voice I had just heard rang out above my head.
"We meet again." I looked up and brown eyes looked at me with a smile.
I bit my tongue to keep myself from screaming out, and I glanced at the nameplate on his desk. The man who just gave me the medicine was actually an Alpha of the Autumn wolf pack? So his name is Anthony, and I just ran into an Alpha?
"I'm sorry, I didn't know you were the Alpha before." I whispered to Anthony.
"There's nothing to apologize for, and I didn't tell you who I am."
His smile made me feel shy, and I could only keep my head down and continue distributing papers. Then I saw the nameplate of Eclipse Wolf Pack.
How could that be! I jerked my head up and there was a handsome man sitting in front of me. His green eyes stared at me, and my brain had a momentary blank. Didn't the Eclipse wolf pack never participate in such diplomatic activities? And who was this man in front of me? He looked nothing like that Clifford family man.
I looked at the girls in front of me, all of whom were a few years older than me and in strong shape. I didn't want to get any new wounds, so I picked up the cleaning tools and started cleaning the training ground. The girls saw me without a hint of resistance and they left with disdainful snickers on their lips.
By the time I left the training ground, it was already late afternoon. I was walking on the path by the training ground when a hand suddenly pulled me against the wall. I subconsciously tried to scream, but the hand immediately covered my mouth. Then I saw Ethan's green eyes. I struggled in his hand and made a "whimpering" sound.
"I can let go of you, but you can't run and you can't yell. Understand? Otherwise, I might really do something."
I nodded hurriedly and Ethan let go of me as he said. I didn't know what he was going to do, did I mess with him earlier? Ethan ran his hands through his hair and then moved closer to my face. As much as I hate to admit it, Ethan had a handsome face that would make a lot of women's hearts break for him, and his green eyes had a little fleck of gold in them. I could clearly smell the aroma of tobacco and rum on him.
"You're a little cuter than I thought you'd be." Ethan's voice was like a male anchor on a midnight radio station, the kind of voice that whispers lingering love in your ear.
But none of that negated his danger, and I struggled to duck backwards. Until the wall behind me clung to my back.
"Are you afraid of me? You've heard those rumors about our wolf pack, right?" His hand landed on my earlobe, and I felt disgusted by his touch, and I smacked his hand away without even thinking about it. Then I immediately regretted it, afraid that this action would piss the man off in front of me.
But Ethan still looked at me with a smile, and his smile had the illusion of being slightly drunk.
"What do you want?"
"And you have a nice pair of eyes." Ethan's arm was braced against my ear.
"You've got the wrong woman." If he was just looking for a woman to flirt with, I could call those volunteers back for him. My eyes went behind Ethan, and whatever he was up to, I was going to run.
"Get away from her!" I looked over in the direction of the voice as Anthony walked towards us. His fists were clenched and his face was definitely considered ugly.
