Alpha's Cursed Mate novel Chapter 4

Estelle's POV

The bar door was closed when I opened my eyes again. What had just happened? I tried to remember, but my body hurt like being running over by a truck. I lay on the cold ground for almost half an hour before I could get up and then stumbled back home.

"Did you have a fight with someone?" Nathan was already home, and his eyes were full of surprise when he saw me.

"Not accurate enough, I was beaten unilaterally." I lay down hard on the couch.

"Who did this?" Nathan found the medicine cabinet and placed it on the table in front of me, with emotion unheard in his words.

I put an ice pack on my swollen face. "Hailey."

"And what did you do to mess with that bitch?"

"Nothing, she's been ticked off for so long." I didn't want to tell my brother that I was being sexually harassed, as far as I knew, the little bastard might do something about it.

Nathan opened his mouth to say something, but closed it again. Finally he said, "I'll help you to ask for leave, so you don't have to go to school tomorrow."

"No, I can't miss class right now."

Nathan looked at me with an incomprehensible look, "Whatever." Then he turned and went back to his room.

I put the ice pack on my stomach and the sharp pain made me suck back a breath. I lay there in a less bad mood. My family was like that, even if last second we wanted to kill each other, the next second we would still think about each other.

The next day I woke up under the vibration of my phone. I didn't want to pay attention to it, as my arm was too sore to stretch. Then after a minute of vibrating, I pushed off the alarm despite the pain.

"Everyone quiet down, I have an announcement to make." Before class started Mr. Ryan walked into our classroom.

"As of today our wolf pack is under martial law." The classroom immediately erupted as Ryan slapped his desk and shouted at us.

"Quiet! It's the Alpha's decision!"

"Why?" The voices of my classmates rang out one after another.

"Someone was sneaked up on by a spy from another wolf pack last night. And the exchange conference is about to start, so we need to do a probe immediately."

Ryan's answer reminded me of last night's encounter, was he talking about the bear man? So what I saw last night was not a hallucination, and the person who saved me was related to the Clifford family? I tried to find out some clues from their murmurs.

"I heard that the attack last night was carried out by the 'Legion'." The boy sitting in front of me said.

"The Legion?!" The other boy looked very surprised.

I remembered the Legion, a nickname given to the Eclipse pack by other packs, which had expanded through aggression over the years, occupying several surrounding cities. Just like its name, the people of the Legion have a strong discipline and a clear hierarchy, and the wolves that have fought with the Legion say that they are a bunch of crazy people who don't dare to die. But their Alpha hid his information so well that not many people had seen him.

"How can that be, they never leave people alive when they take actions." So the bear man was still alive? I unexpectedly put my heart down.

The silvery irises came to my mind. I didn't expect that man could be connected to the Legion. It was possible that the man was a member of the Eclipse wolf pack. Did I accidentally run into such a dangerous person? And I was supposed to be saved by that mysterious man last night. I couldn't think of an answer.

"With this." The girl pulled out a 20-dollar bill from her pocket. "I know you're short of money, the cafe you went to work at before is owned by my family." Right to the point, I couldn't refute her, because what she said was the truth. Because of the accident these days, I was not able to work part-time at all. The water and electricity at home will be cut off soon.

"Okay." I agreed, wanting to reach out and take her money.

The girl let go of my hand a second before it touched the bill, and it fell to the ground. I gave her a look, then knelt down to pick up the money.

A girl's voice came from above me, "Look, I told you she was a bitch."

No matter how harsh her laughter was I could only endure, if I offend this girl. I can't even find a part-time job in this neighborhood in the future.

They took me to the storage room, where there were several paper boxes on the floor. Her long beautiful nails pointed to the boxes.

"That's all, start moving."

"I can't move all of them."

"Then make a few more trips."

I had no choice but to pick up the huge cardboard box. The box wasn't heavy, but I pulled my wound when I got up. I sucked in a breath and wondered when this wound would heal.

I walked towards the logistics section of the training ground with the box in my arms. The huge box was blocking my view, so I walked extra slowly. But around a corner, I bumped into someone in front of me. The box was about to fall to the ground when a long and strong hand caught my box.

I hurriedly put the box on the ground and across the room was a tall werewolf. He was dressed very casually, with his brown hair casually pinned behind his ears. The skin beneath his beige knit shirt was a healthy wheatish glow, and black jeans wrapped around his long and strong legs. I hadn't seen him before, he would be from one of the other wolf packs.
