After Surviving the Apocalypse, I Built a City in Another World novel Chapter 1792

Chapter 1792: Heating Arrays (Part 2)

And if a heating slab indoors ended up being overdone, maybe they could place the slab on the roof so the men wouldn’t have to climb up so often or something.

That said, buildings here were relatively durable. Outside of villages, it seemed like the roofs giving way to snow weight was relatively rare.

It was here that the door opened. It was Ansel and the family. Baby Liam was now in Winona’s arms, while her twins waddled to her, hugging her.

"Mamaaa!"

"Maamaaaaa!"

Ansel had his eyes focused on what they were doing. The rug was visibly over a rock.

"Ohh? What is this?" he asked, as soon as he noticed it.

"It’s a heating array—"

"Oh, good! It was getting cool~"

Ansel was excited and sat down. He was too excited and confident in his fire affinity.

His butt jumped up as soon as he sat down tho.

"Ow!"

This accident reminded them that while the weather wasn’t too cold, having this at home was rather dangerous. At this, Althea quickly deactivated it, just in time before the kids literally tried to dive to it!

"..."

Fortunately, the array was off, and the babies were held up by the underarms, looking sorely disappointed at being stopped from following their uncle’s footsteps, er, buttsteps.

The adults didn’t know where to laugh or cry, and Althea couldn’t help but poke their cheeks before taking each one with an arm. "Naughty babies..."

She let them rest on her lap, and she started tickling their tummies, targeting their tickle spots.

"WaAHHH! Mamaaa! Nuuuu!"

"Nuuuu mamaaa!!" Baby Pepper screamed while giggling in between.

Their milky giggles resounded in the room, and her anger dissipated like this.

In the end, she took the slab to her space. She then went to the gardens to create the other slabs, the ones she planned to place on the plazas or parks or wherever the guards decided to.

Having the ’detachable’ attribute really added a lot of flexibility.

They would probably place some in some hospital lobbies, too, which could then be moved accordingly. The slab heated more than just the circle above it, but it affected the ambient temperature of a big room as long as it was enclosed. It could even add ventilation effects.

After all, the air above the array would be heated, and—using the ’hot air rises, cool air sinks’ principle—the difference in temperature would allow some air circulation to happen.

She also discovered that carving the pattern into the stone first worked just as well, and it would take her less energy because she’d need less aether on the potion, and she’d spend less energy controlling it too.

When the old alchemists found out she had succeeded, they rushed Zenno to make more fire potions. They even assisted in preparing the materials and the like for him.

Of course, in exchange, a slab was given to each of them...

Anyway, this allowed her to still be able to do a few more beyond her original plans.

"Mamaaa! Papaaaa!"

"Mamaaaaa! Papaa! Papaa!"

The couple scooped up a child each, hugging them. Althea patted Meatball’s bum though. His diapers were already warm. "Oh, due for a diaper change, I see," she said, smooching her baby’s chubby cheek.

"Hehe~"

Ansel couldn’t help but look. "Where are they getting potty trained again?"

He asked this because he wondered when he could potty train his kid, who was still an infant.

He was fine changing diapers, but that didn’t mean he liked it. 𝑓𝑟𝑒𝘦𝓌𝑒𝑏𝑛𝑜𝘷𝑒𝘭.𝒸𝘰𝑚

"Generally, babies get potty trained at 2 to three years old."

"Almost there, right? And considering the twins have always been advanced..."

"Hmn, maybe we should start during the cold since we’d be trapped at home anyway."

"Ah fair point," Althea said, looking at her babies in interest. Would they really be able to do it?

Garan, on the other hand, nodded. Yes they would.

The babies: "???"
