After I Stopped Loving Him novel Chapter 1186

"Exactly. We haven't had a proper date yet," Harold agreed.

"I was starting to feel like I needed to complain about you neglecting your boyfriend for work."

"Especially after Ethan got discharged from the hospital. I was terrified you'd drift back to him. He lives right next door—he has the home-field advantage."

"That's impossible. I told you, there is absolutely zero chance for him and me," Isabella laughed.

"You can tell me if something bothers you. Don't bottle it up. I know I've neglected you, and I haven't given you enough of my time."

"It's fine. I don't mind bottling it up as long as I get to see you every day. That's enough for me."

Their current routine consisted of a brief chat over breakfast, and then he would pick her up after work so they could talk on the drive home.

Catching a movie together felt like a rare luxury.

"Isabella, is your soup really that amazing? Ethan mentioned you used to cook and make soup for him all the time."

Since becoming her boyfriend, Harold realized he had barely tasted any of her cooking.

He was jealous.

Ethan had enjoyed so much more of her than he currently did.

"Not really. I only made soup for him when we were dating. After we got married, I stopped. Susan usually made it, and I just delivered it to him."

"My cooking is just okay. It can't compare to your private chefs. But if you don't mind, I can whip up some home-cooked meals for you when I have time."

In her past life, Isabella had constantly cooked for Ethan.

During the three months he pursued her, she had brewed countless nourishing soups for him.

"It's just an hour's drive, and we're still within Cabinda. The cafe manager has everything handled."

"I'm not worried about the shop," Laura said. "Alright, I'm heading home to grab some clothes. We're going to be in the water, so I definitely need a change of clothes. Jesse's family has a villa there, but I haven't kept any stuff there."

Jesse's family had purchased the property long before the couple even met.

Laura and Jesse were officially engaged, but the wedding hadn't happened yet, and they weren't living together. Laura wanted to save that milestone for their wedding night, and the eager Jesse completely respected her boundaries.

"Sounds good. Go pack. Harold and I are already on the road, so hurry up."

"Is it just the four of us?"

Laura asked, "You didn't bring Cynthia or the others?"

"No, my mom and Uncle Richard are heading back to his hometown for a bit. Linda is out of town on business, and Barbara had plans with her friend." Isabella figured her future sister-in-law was just trying to avoid being a third wheel.
