After Divorcing my Captain Husband (Chloe and Michael) novel Chapter 491

Chapter 491 I Don't Want Your Money!

"What's going on? Who kidnapped Chloe?"

Candy's first thought was William, but then she reconsidered.

Since William had already arranged for Chloe to attend the banquet in a few days, why would he act today?

If it wasn't William, then who could it be?

Rachel? Or Lucy?

Quinn didn't answer her question, focusing intently on checking the surveillance footage.

He saw the truck that had disappeared in front of him and Michael, quickly noted the license plate number, and used another software to track the vehicle's location.

Within ten minutes, a blinking red dot appeared on the screen.

"Is Chloe here?"

Candy looked at the location, which was at a seafood market about twenty kilometers from the city center.

Late at night, the seafood market was completely closed, and there was nobody around.

Quinn grabbed the car keys and rushed out the door, with Candy holding Chloe's phone and following closely behind.

After Chloe was taken, she soon heard the sound of a car door closing, followed by the engine starting.

She struggled to get out of the sack but to no avail; it was too sturdy to tear open with her hands.

She could vaguely make out two figures in the front seats but couldn't tell if they were male or female.

"Who are you? Whatever they're paying you, I can offer ten times that. Just let me go, and I'll pretend this never happened. I won't call the police."

Chloe assumed these kidnappers were in it for the money, so she tried to negotiate calmly.

The person in the passenger seat turned to look at the sack and sneered. "Stop yelling. We have professional integrity and don't want your money."

The other kidnapper also made a call, but his tone was entirely different. "We've got the person. When will you pay us the rest?"

Straight to the point about money—it was clear he needed it badly.

After a brief exchange, he hung up and stood guard over Chloe with his accomplice.

"Just wait. When that person arrives, we can leave."

Chloe desperately wanted to speak; now was her best chance to negotiate. But with the rag in her mouth, she couldn't utter a word.

Her stomach churned, and she began to retch, looking utterly miserable.

Seeing her about to pass out from dry heaving, the two finally approached and removed the rag from her mouth. After all, in the dead of night, no one would hear her even if she screamed.

Chloe took several deep breaths before speaking, "I... I can give you money. Name your price, and I'll pay it. But if you leave a criminal record now, it won't be good for you."

The man's eyes turned cold. "I told you, I don't want your money!"
