Before he could respond, Starla continued, "Oh, and don't think you can just throw some random scapegoat under the bus."
She knew exactly how these people operated. It was the same trick Fairfax used to pull, and she was warning Darian not to try it. It would only waste time, and if she wasn't satisfied, she'd just force him to do it all over again.
"Rowena or Yulisa. Pick one."
This time, the target was explicitly defined. It couldn't just be some minor player in the Lynn family. Darian had a habit of playing favorites, right? Between Yulisa and Tanya, he had chosen Yulisa. Fine. Now Starla was giving him another opportunity to exercise his favoritism. She was very curious to see who he would choose between his own mother and his fiancée.
Darian's face was already dark, but hearing this, his hands balled into tight fists. He gripped his phone so hard the screen threatened to crack.
"Don't push it, Starla!"
"Oh, so now I'm pushing it? But what they did to Tanya was perfectly fine?"
Look at how badly Tanya had been bullied, while he stood by and did nothing. He had the nerve to claim she was safe inside his villa, completely oblivious to the fact that the person hurting her the most was him.
"By the way, you only have twenty-four hours to sort this out too."
He had made his choice between Tanya and Yulisa in less than an hour. How long would it take him to choose between his mother and his fiancée?
Hearing the time limit, Darian nearly passed out from pure rage. He truly felt Starla was going too far... but he couldn't say a word against her. The more he fought back, the more outrageous her demands would become.
Without giving him a chance to argue, Starla hung up.
