A Widow's Poison, A Wife's Rebellion novel Chapter 375

The very thought of returning to the estate made her frantic. She felt like Starla was driving her insane. Once, Brinley and Darleen had been the ones trying to drive Starla out of the Yelchin family. Now, Starla had become the master of the house, making it impossible for them, the rightful owners, to live there.

Brinley’s desire to see Starla gone was now matched only by her desperation to flee Marina City herself—to escape to a place where Starla couldn't touch them, a place that didn't even share the same air.

Seeing Brinley’s emotional state, Darleen’s face tightened with displeasure.

Xenia gently tugged on her mother’s sleeve. “Mom.”

Darleen, already on edge, snapped, “What do you want?”

“I want to leave Marina City too,” Xenia said, her voice small. She wanted to get as far away from Starla as possible. It was clear that as long as Starla was in that house, their lives would be a living hell. Starla had even cut off their access to hotels and restaurants.

“Have you forgotten about Herbert?” Darleen reminded her sharply.

The mention of Herbert’s name made Darleen’s chest tighten. Xenia fell silent. She did want to be with Herbert, but the situation with him was… complicated.

Darleen turned her attention back to Brinley.

“I can’t wait any longer,” Brinley insisted.
