A Whisper that went unheard novel Chapter 203

Upon seeing Melody's tense expression, Jeremy thought for a moment and finally spoke up, saying, "Krystal resumed filming her promotional video today. You'd better remind Tiffany not to target her again. She can't afford trouble with the Wardolfs."

He paused for a moment and added, "And neither can your other friends."

Melody snapped out of her thoughts, her brows knitting slightly. "Why do you always assume we're the ones targeting Krystal?"

"I'm just advising you not to provoke the Wardolfs," Jeremy flatly replied.

Krystal had just returned home, and Andrew and Laura were very protective of her. Melody couldn't compete with Krystal—not by any measure.

Jeremy never liked to say more than was necessary. He felt he'd made his point clear enough, and Melody should understand him by now.

After dinner at Chesson Manor, Melody and Jeremy agreed to meet at the airport the next morning.

After that, they returned home to pack.

Before packing, Melody hesitated for a moment. Then, she carefully placed the bag of childhood clothes into her small suitcase.

She picked up the turquoise guardian angel and turned it over in her hand. After a moment's thought, she decided to wear it around her neck.

Her early childhood memories had long since blurred, yet as she clasped the turquoise guardian angel around her neck, a strange sense of comfort washed over her.

...

Ophelia had booked an island resort for their vacation.

It was Melody's first time traveling with the Chessons. When they arrived at the hotel entrance, an attractive young woman in a crisp uniform stepped forward to greet them.

"Welcome, Mr. and Mrs. Chesson," she warmly said.

Her tone had lost some of its earlier warmth.

Cassie escorted them to their suite. Then, she turned to Jeremy with a playful wink. "I've prepared everything according to your usual preferences. Nothing's changed."

When Cassie finally left, Melody looked at Jeremy and asked, "Do you know Cassie well?"

Jeremy didn't deny it. "She always handles arrangements whenever I come here."

Melody hesitated. She wanted to ask Jeremy if he noticed Cassie's obvious interest in him, but she wasn't sure how to phrase it.

Upon noticing her hesitation, Jeremy said, "If you have something to say, just say it."

Melody briefly closed her eyes and softly asked, "Can we request for a different concierge?"

Jeremy's dark eyes fixed themselves on her. Then, in a cold and flat voice, he said, "Give me a reason to."
