A Whisper that went unheard novel Chapter 186

However, Melody didn't have time to think more about it as Denvin's call came in right then. He told her that he was already waiting downstairs.

With that, Melody hurriedly grabbed the gifts she'd bought and went down.

Denvin's Rolls-Royce was parked outside, and he was leaning against it while looking at his phone. An air of nobility exuded from him as he stood there with his long legs on display.

When he heard Melody approaching, he looked up to her and then to the bags in her hands. With a frown, he complained, "You're so slow." Still, he reached out and took the bags from her and placed them into the trunk.

Melody was a little embarrassed as she said, "Thank you. And thank you for going to the orphanage today too."

If it weren't for Denvin suggesting it, Regallo Group would never have thought of hosting an event at such a small orphanage.

Regallo Group was well-known enough. So, even if they wanted to boost their public image, they had plenty of better options.

Denvin raised an eyebrow and scoffed. "Don't think too highly of me. I've already told you that I've invited the media. Do you really think I'm doing this for charity?"

"At least you're honest about it," Melody answered.

For some reason, she had always been afraid of this older brother of hers. But now, she actually found herself intrinsically trusting in him.

Denvin glanced at Melody and didn't say anything else, but there was a mocking glint in his eyes.

Denvin hadn't lied when he said he had invited the media. But what surprised Melody was that the orphanage had been renovated. Even the ratty old toys inside had been replaced with brand-new ones.

She instinctively looked at Denvin next to her. "Did you do all this?"

"Did you expect me to hold an event at a junkyard-like place?" he casually asked.

Regardless, at least the kids at the orphanage were the ones who benefited from all this.

Melody was about to thank Denvin again when she saw Orphy coming over with a few other kids in tow.

They were all dressed nicely. Clearly, the clothes were all new.

Immediately, Melody's attention shifted to them.

Harold immediately knew that something was wrong. He walked over to Jeremy and tapped on his desk. "What's on your mind?"

Jeremy looked up with a frighteningly cold gaze. His eyes were filled with obvious annoyance and anger, with a hint of sullenness mixed in.

Harold was surprised. This was the first time he had seen such complex and palpable emotions in Jeremy's eyes. He had always been more of an emotionless robot, after all.

This piqued his interest. He asked, "What's got you so bothered? Come on, tell me. I might be able to give you some advice."

Right then, Caleb walked in with his phone in hand, blaring an audio.

Harold glanced over and reminded him, saying, "What are you watching? Turn the volume down. It's too loud."

Caleb answered, "It's Regallo Group's livestream. They're hosting a charity event today. And since I bought some of Regallo Group's stocks recently, I thought I'd join in on the fun."

Then, he said, "Huh? Ms. Wardolf is there too?"

It was only after hearing this that Jeremy slowly looked up.
