Janet clenched her fists in frustration, her heart heavy with sorrow for Benson.
"Don't forget about your brother! Instead of standing by his own family, Theo deliberately humiliated Benson in front of everyone. It's like he's trying to make things as difficult as possible for us!"
With a frown, Liam opened the car door for Janet before closing it behind her. "Keep your voice down. If Dad hears you—"
"Who cares if he hears? You know how obsessed he is with appearances, yet today, Theo publicly embarrassed his own nephew in front of the entire Shaw family.
"I can't believe Edward didn't even lift a finger to defend Benson! It's clear—Theo is the only one Edward truly cares about. To him, you and Benson are nothing but afterthoughts."
Her words were thick with resentment, her face twisted with fury.
His expression hardened, his eyes shadowed with frustration. "Benson brought this on himself. Dad was justified in reprimanding him."
"Are you actually siding with Theo? For all we know, Sierra could've been acting petty, blowing things out of proportion just to make Benson look bad."
Janet let out an exasperated huff, a thought suddenly striking her. "Wait... why would Theo stand up for Sierra? He's never been the type to involve himself in other people's business. And today, of all days, he suddenly returns—almost like he came back just for her."
Her eyes narrowed in suspicion as she turned to Liam. "Do you think Theo might have feelings for Sierra?"
A brief, dark glint passed through Liam's eyes.
"Stop being ridiculous. Theo is an elder, and Sierra is a year younger than Benson—how could that even be possible?"
Janet quickly realized her thoughts might be a bit too far-fetched.
However, William's poor decisions during his younger years caused the company to spiral into a severe crisis. Though they managed to recover, the Shaw family had already lost a significant part of its fortune.
"How could Sierra possibly be any good? You men only care about appearances," she muttered, clearly frustrated. "Did you even hear what I said about Theo?"
Liam remained unfazed. "Theo will marry whoever he wants. There's nothing you can do about it."
Janet's anger quickly deflated. She understood Theo's methods all too well—he didn't tolerate opposition.
One of her relatives had once joined Gray Corporation, only to be quickly imprisoned by Theo for tax evasion. Despite her pleas for mercy, Theo remained unyielding, showing no compassion.
Janet couldn't even begin to imagine what kind of woman could ever win his heart.
