Sierra despised being indebted to anyone.
Unless Theo gave her a proper reason, she wouldn't feel at ease.
At that moment, his deep, steady voice broke the silence. "My father is pressuring me to get married. I have no interest in dealing with other women, and I don't like them getting too close. Yet, I don't mind being around you—and I find you pleasing to the eye."
Sierra let out a quiet sigh of relief.
So, she was just a convenient choice for him.
Despite this, he had no interest in other women, nor did he appreciate them getting too close.
Madison's past suspicions echoed in her mind. She had once wondered if Theo might be hiding a health issue. Could it be true? Was Theo truly... sexually incapable?
Sierra's gaze instinctively swept over him, noting his broad shoulders, slim waist, and naturally sculpted physique.
As he shrugged off his suit jacket, the contours of his muscular chest became faintly visible beneath his black shirt, and his long, toned legs radiated strength and power.
But then again, good looks and a well-built physique didn't necessarily mean capability in that regard.
That would explain a lot. Otherwise, how could a man as exceptional as Theo have remained single for so many years, untouched by romantic scandal?
"What are you thinking about?" Theo asked, his voice breaking the silence. He had been watching her expressions shift, a subtle unease settling in his chest.
Sierra quickly looked away, a tinge of embarrassment creeping up her neck.
Of course, this wasn't something he would ever openly admit—there was no point in dwelling on it.
"Uncle Theo, please give me a few days. I need time to think it over," she murmured.
"My life is my own business. Stay out of it," Benson retorted as he shot her an icy glare.
With that, he turned and strode toward his car. After slamming the door shut, he sped off without another word.
Janet's face twisted with anger as she turned to Liam, her voice sharp with frustration. "Liam, are you just going to stand there and say nothing? Benson actually raised his voice at me—his own mother!"
Liam stepped closer, gently patting her back in an attempt to calm her. "Benson is upset. Try to understand where he's coming from."
"So his feelings are important, but mine aren't? Sierra was completely disrespectful! She spoke to me so rudely, yet Benson still took her side! Even now, he refuses to let her go! I don't know what kind of spell that woman has put on him!"
"Don't be so harsh. Benson and Sierra grew up together and have been in a relationship for years. It's only natural that he still has strong feelings for her," Liam reasoned.
Janet let out a bitter laugh. "Strong feelings? She clearly doesn't feel the same! Sierra was completely indifferent, while Benson was practically pleading with her! And yet, she didn't budge—not even a little! When has my son ever humbled himself like this for anyone? That woman is nothing but trouble!"
