A Pigeon Pair: Sweetheart, Let's Get Married novel Chapter 11

"Everly, you drank a lot tonight, didn't you? Look, your cheeks are glowing."

Garry was quite kind-hearted. Perhaps he saw Everly drink a lot of wine in a good mood, so he came over and reminded Everly, "Drink less. You have to take care of your son at night, right?"

Everly thought of Edmond and let out a light breath.

"Garry, do you have any news about that project now?" Everly couldn't help burping, and asked in a low voice.

Garry had quite a lot of news from the grapevine. As Everly asked, he quickly said, "Yesterday a meeting was held. The head office comes up with this project and pays a lot of attention to it. However, I feel that since it is so mysterious, there may be some difficulties."

Everly bit her lips and said, "You've always been in C City. How much do you know about Lamont Group?"

"Lamont Group?"

"Maverick."

"I showed you the news before. Maverick is very difficult to deal with." Garry shook his head and suddenly thought of something. He asked, "Everly, when you knocked on the door, did you...."

"No, I gave him the plan." Everly responded through gritted teeth.

"I heard that Maverick was cold. Although he looks good-looking, he isn't easy to be communicated with, is he?"

Everly thought to herself that not only was Maverick a hard person, but he was also despicable and shameless.

Everly drank too much and felt dizzy. The entire room was filled with the smell of smoke, making her uncomfortable.

So, she stood up and said, "I'm going out for some air."

Garry hurriedly moved away to make way for her.

As soon as Everly went out, a wave of nausea swept over her.

As a result, maybe she had drunk too much, Everly couldn't find the bathroom after searching for a long time.

The floor was a curved circular design. The corridors were open to the left and right, and there was no sign of a bathroom.

Everly walked all the way to the end, finding that there was a room in front of her.

Everly reached out and pinched her eyebrows. She continued to walk forward. When she passed the room, she felt that the door was not completely closed.

Just as she was standing at the door, she heard someone say with a smile.

"I heard that the one looking for you to invest had directly entered your room. Maverick, look at your appearance and figure. Probably that woman used the investment as an excuse and knocked on the door. What do you think? Maverick, was she hot?"

Everly paused and her breathing slowed down.

Maverick again?

Investment?

A woman entered his room?

Very good. Everly was pretty sure that they were talking about her.

She stood motionless at the door.

There should be quite a lot of people inside. After that person finished speaking, another one immediately answered.

A dim yellow light came straight at her.

The pungent smell of tobacco filled the room. Everly subconsciously paused and narrowed her eyes.

She could see clearly how many people there were in the box. As soon as she opened the door, she was greeted by a man sitting casually.

Maverick had taken off his coat. Leaving three buttons of the light gray shirt undone, he rolled up his sleeves.

Holding a cigarette in one hand, he was not as cold as when he wore meticulous clothes. Instead, he looked somewhat casual. He put on a faint smile, as if he didn't take his friends' jokes seriously.

He was quite generous to others.

But he humiliated her harshly.

Even if he didn't want to invest, there was no need to fool her like this, right?

The people in the room finally noticed Everly. They wondered who this woman was.

Everly, however, had already walked straight towards Maverick. Standing in front of Maverick, she directly picked up a glass of wine and splashed it on his crotch.

...

"Maverick, you are outwardly strong and inwardly weak."

"Your kidney function has been impaired. It's better to smoke less and drink less. Otherwise, if you take off your pants next time, how embarrassing it will be when you are not able to continue and have to ask your partner to groan cooperatively!"

Everly spat with a smile.
