A Pack of Their Own (Keska) novel Chapter 135

TREVER: I hate seeing her with tears in her eyes like that. I just want to rip the pack to shreds, for letting Jessie get away with everything they have. I am almost temped to take her now and head home with her. Her father be damned. But maybe things will get better after the dance tonight and Jessie leaves with whoever her mate might be.

KESKA: Trever and Dutch leave the cabin naked again, I think he does that just to see me blush, jerk, but an adorable jerk. I check my phone to see what time it is and figure I would send birthday greetings to James before he gets up, lazy bum. (Happy 18th big brother, hope you had a good run last night. You will have to let me know if Jessie found her mate.) I send the text and then refresh the laptop and see how the cabin plans looked after Mackie did her thing and got me unstuck. I really do hope that Jessie found her mate, I am looking forward to getting to work in the restaurant for the rest of the summer and getting back to my normal.

MACKIE: I am really starting to hate all this back-and-forth crap. Although I do like the scenery, I can’t deny that. Being in Dutch’s arms all night, and waking up with him, again nice. I just wish Jessie would hurry up and leave already. I want my friend back so we can just get on with our lives. The guys stop before they break the tree line and shift back, get dressed and we head into the Pack house, they go up to change, and I head into the kitchen. The energy is high. I overhear some of the omegas talking, seems Jessie’s mate claimed her after all, and in a very umm yeah, ah no thank you way. I guess I’m glad I wasn’t here to see that. Wait till Kes hears she is going to end up in a laughing fit equal to Liam’s. I jump in and start helping with the breakfast clean up.

APOLLO: I know I may have come off as a bit harsh, but I can’t afford a spoiled brat for a Luna, and I get the feeling that, that is exactly what I got. She will learn quick enough that in our pack, we have to fight to survive, we are constantly battling rogues, so she will have to train every day as well, which I have a feeling again is something that she is not used to, but she will learn. We aren’t a real small pack, about 800 pack members, but do to our location, we are susceptible to rogue attacks. I did like seeing her in my shirt though, and I didn’t go easy on her last night either. At least she can handle that aspect of me. I grin thinking of last night. : I start to get my things together and start to repack my clothes to get ready for the trip home. One more thing that I am grateful for is the fact that we don’t have to travel to another pack for her to get her belongings.

JESSIE: It sucks that we won’t be staying for the dance, I just hope that I’m not going to some small hick pack. I link mom. “Mom I need some boxes, I have to pack some of my things because Apollo says we can’t stay for the dance tonight, that we have to leave after breakfast.” “I will get some of the omegas to get some for you dear, but is he sure that you can’t stay?” “That is what he said, and I am not going to argue with him after what he did last night.” “That is very wise of you.” I close the link and start to pack my suitcases with my clothes and personal items. I soon hear a knock on my bedroom door. “Come.” I call out there are 3 omegas that come in carrying a couple boxes each. I point to my bed “Put them down there.” I then grab one and start to pack some of my pictures and more of my clothes in them. I leave the nick knacks; I have a feeling that where I’m going they don’t think to highly on such things. I link Marla and Dedi. “Hey, just wanted to wish both of you the best of luck, I won’t be able to be here for the dance tonight, Apollo says we have a long drive ahead of us and with the possibility of a pending war he wants to get home and get me settled and inducted as Luna as soon as possible.” “That sucks that we won’t be able to have our last hurrah together.” “I know, but at least you won’t have to put up with Kes being there to stick her nose into things.” “True that, but it just won’t be the same without you either.” “Well, you will just have to party for me, but I have to get back to packing, I will call you both later.” I close the link and finish packing up my clothes and personal effects. Once I’m done I head into the shower and get cleaned up including washing my hair. I come out and dress in an old concert tee shirt and a pair of leggings, braid my hair and go down for breakfast.
