DRAKE: “Kes it’s one thing for you and Mackinzie to go off and do shit like that, **BUT NOT** when you have the prince with you. Their safety is on me when they are on our territory, you can’t just go off and do whatever you want and drag him along.”
“Yes father.”
She says to me with her head down. “May I have the hunting cabin”
She blurts out at me. “Why would you want the cabin?”
I asked her. “It’s in a nice spot, it’s pretty, and it’s quiet, the patrols don’t use it and don’t bother with it, I could fix it up and Mackie and I could rent it out for weekend get aways, or week vacations.”
She says with a bit of hope in her voice. “I will think about it.”
I tell her. “Yes father.”
She says with a dejected tone in her voice. “May I go?”
she asked quietly. I nod and watch as she gets up and walks out. *(“What do I do with her Helios?”) (“Give pup what she asked for, show her that you are trying, you did not give her a gift for her birthday, tell her it is a late birthday gift, and tell her that you will help with the upgrades that she wants to make.”) (“Why didn’t you say anything sooner?”) (“You to still need to remember that you have 5 children, and stop forgetting about her.”)* He tells me, and I know he is right. I link Carla. *“We didn’t get Keska anything for her birthday.”
“Oh, crap Drake, and I think I even had her working on the invitations for the ball on her birthday. But she never asked for anything.”
“I know, and I think that is partly why we didn’t get her anything because she never asks for anything.”
“She probably feels why bother she wouldn’t get it anyway, because she isn’t Jessie.”* Carla sends back to me. *“Well, she just asked me for the hunting cabin, she wants to fix it up and rent it out.”
“That’s an excellent idea, wish we would have thought of that. But we can’t take her idea away from her. It will give her some income and allow her to keep earning her own money, something the other kids never did do.”
“Liam is starting to though.”
“Are we really going to let them get a job off pack lands?”
