A condensed pillar of gold erupted from the dimensional vortex.
It placed itself between Ghost Seven's descending blade and Aureon's soul, trying to stop the killing strike.
The Ninefold Nether flame did not stop.
That fire existed to destroy divine souls.
The black blade split the golden barrier.
Ghostly blue flame immediately wrapped around Aureon's soul.
A scream unlike any cry of bodily pain shook heaven and earth.
This agony struck directly at the source.
Aureon's golden soul twisted violently.
It struggled.
Its outline broke apart.
Points of golden essence went dark one after another, melting away like snow beneath a blazing sun.
About fifteen seconds later, the screaming stopped.
The final gold vanished.
The core divine soul that had been rooted in the Divine Realm for tens of thousands of years was gone.
Without the soul as an anchor, the dark-gold vortex in the air began to shrink.
It closed little by little until the dimensional distortion disappeared and the void became smooth again.
The resurrection light still descended on schedule.
It landed on Aureon's corpse.
Nothing happened.
The divine radiance circulated uselessly around a body that had no soul left to answer it.
The meridians remained dead.
The flesh remained cold.
No life returned.
This time, Aureon Suncrest was truly gone.
Grand Zenith Immortal.
Appointed representative of the celestials in the Twentieth Firmament.
Dead in body and soul.
The tension holding the battlefield together finally broke.
All four collapsed under the weight of what they had spent.
Jared knelt against the Dragonslayer Sword.
Blood continued running from the wound at his shoulder. His entire body was numb with pain and countless meridians were damaged, but the invisible cord stretched inside his chest finally loosened.
A relieved smile appeared at his lips.
Gwendolyn shifted closer and leaned lightly against him.
She had no strength left, yet her expression was finally peaceful.
Violet lay back in the dust, every trace of immortal light gone, simply breathing.
Ghost Seven remained standing beside Aureon's corpse.
The nether flame around him withdrew, leaving only a solitary black silhouette.
Black Abyss Valley became quiet.
The quiet lasted for about fifty seconds.
Then the sealed sky erupted.
Golden radiance a hundred times more powerful than before spread across the heavens and stained the entire sky red-gold.
Supreme pressure descended with the fury of a Saint.
It came down like a mountain.
Like an ocean.
Like the weight of the heavens themselves.
Every surviving Demonic Cultivator and captured celestial in the valley was smashed to the ground.
Bones creaked under the pressure.
No one could lift a head or even open his eyes.
Violet forced herself upward despite the pain.
The moment a thin layer of immortal light formed around her, the descending pressure shattered it.
At the center of the sky, the gold divided.
A figure walked out of it.
An elderly man descended slowly from the Upper Realm.
His divine robe was elaborate and richly gilded, covered in patterns of the Celestial Stars. Every thread seemed woven from spiritual gold.
His face was stern and deeply lined.
Ancient cold filled his eyes.
Countless layers of divine light surrounded his body, and complete Celestial Stars laws circulated inside those layers. Even a slight movement from him disturbed the surrounding dimensions.
Dark-gold vertical pupils looked down on the Lower Realm.
The Celestial Stars seemed to be born and extinguished within them.
Jared could not judge the elder's cultivation.
He only knew one thing.
This man was stronger than Violet.
Stronger than Ghost Seven.
The elder hovered above the valley.
His gaze moved over the blood, the damaged immortal weapons, and the broken divine artifacts before settling on Aureon's cold body.
The temperature around him dropped.
Killing intent froze the void.
His voice remained almost conversational. "So this is the Lower Realm rabble that murdered the representative appointed by the Divine Realm."
He barely raised his voice.
The words still struck directly at everyone's soul, carrying fundamental law with them.
"Every one of you deserves annihilation of body and soul. You will enter the God-Burning Prison and suffer there for eternity."
The elder pressed one hand downward.
The pressure of an Immortal Lord became a tangible mountain.
It crashed into the valley.
