Rowan nodded, half convinced and half lost in thought.
"Even if they do manage to unite," Jared said, and a cold light passed through his eyes, "I am not afraid."
His voice was quiet.
But each word sank into everyone present like an iron nail.
"I killed a Golden Immortal Level Seven demon hound king. I killed Harlan Ironhall, a peak Golden Immortal Level Six cultivator, in one strike. If those factions come after me together, the best they can send is still only Golden Immortal Level Six. However many arrive, however many die."
Rowan said nothing.
He remembered the fight against the demon hound king.
The violet sword-light.
The speed the eye could not follow.
The chaotic force that a Golden Immortal Level Seven demon beast could not resist.
Below Golden Immortal Level Eight, no one was truly enough before Mr. Chance.
"As for Golden Immortal Level Eight..."
A cold curve touched Jared's mouth. "I have never fought one. I would not mind trying."
Lucky poked its head out from Jared's shoulder. Its golden little eyes shone with excitement, and it gave a low growl, as if asking to join the fight too.
Rowan looked at the young fire unicorn.
Most of the worry in his chest faded.
That was right.
Mr. Chance still had a fire unicorn.
A divine beast.
It looked young, but all of them had seen what it could do.
Unicorn truefire had burned through even the demon hound king.
With Jared and Lucky together, a Golden Immortal Level Eight expert might not be able to do much to them.
"Let's go."
Jared turned and continued toward Clearwind Village.
...
While Jared's group was still on the road, Bermu City had already exploded with rumors.
The cultivators who had escaped the cavern staggered back through the city gate. They were pale, blood-covered, and half-crawling, like ghosts that had dragged themselves out of hell.
The gate guards almost failed to recognize them.
"What happened to you?" a guard demanded.
One cultivator collapsed onto the ground and gasped for air, terror filling his voice.
"Dead... all dead... Captain Ironhall is dead... Pavilion Master Cloudmere is dead... Blackwolf is dead... Sect Master Emberhawk is dead... dead... all dead... one sword each... that young man killed them one sword each..."
The guard's expression changed.
Harlan Ironhall, leader of the Ironblood Mercenary Company, peak Golden Immortal Level Six.
Byron Cloudmere, master of Cloudflight Pavilion, Golden Immortal Level Six.
Blackwolf, leader of the Graywolf Gang, Golden Immortal Level Six.
Emberhawk, master of Blazefire Sect, Golden Immortal Level Six.
Four figures who could make Bermu City tremble were all dead?
"Who did it?"
"A young man... Golden Immortal Level One... with a fire unicorn..."
The cultivator's voice grew weaker, but fear still filled his eyes. "He killed Captain Ironhall with one sword... One sword... Captain Ironhall never even reacted..."
The news flew through Bermu City.
In less than two hours, everyone knew.
The Golden Immortal Level Seven demon hound king had been killed by a young Golden Immortal Level One cultivator with a fire unicorn.
The leaders of the Ironblood Mercenary Company, Cloudflight Pavilion, the Graywolf Gang, and Blazefire Sect had also been killed by that young man.
One sword each.

Dropping of 4 new chapters a day is too small, please increase it to 10. Thanks...
Josephine's first time seeing Jared kill isn't with Leyton but with Falcon. Pay attention to your work....
