A Man Like None Other (Jared Chance) novel Chapter 6567

The middle-aged man stared at Jared, who had appeared out of nowhere, and the killing intent in his eyes deepened.

"A bug from the True Immortal Realm Level Eight dares stand in the way of my holy radiance?"

Outrage sharpened his voice, cold and offended.

"If you’re that eager to die, then I’ll grant your wish."

He raised the golden sceptre again, and holy radiance gathered at its tip.

Jared didn’t look at him.

He turned and glanced back at Josephine instead.

"Can you still stand?"

His voice was so quiet only Josephine could hear it.

Josephine nodded without speaking.

Something had lodged in her throat.

She couldn’t get a word out.

"Get back."

Jared withdrew his gaze and slowly raised the Dragonslayer Sword, the tip leveling at the middle-aged man’s throat.

"Leave this to me."

Josephine parted her lips, wanting to ask how someone at True Immortal Realm Level Eight could possibly stand against a Golden Immortal Level Four.

But the words never came out.

Because then she saw Jared's eyes.

There was no fear in those violet eyes. No hesitation either. Only a calm so deep it was hard to put into words.

Not the empty calm of someone too ignorant to be afraid.

The calm of someone who knew exactly what he could do.

The kind of calm a hunter wore while watching prey walk straight into a trap.

Josephine took several steps back and braced herself against the ice gate, her dark-crimson eyes locked on Jared's back.

She wanted to see what kind of hidden card a True Immortal Realm Level Eight like Jared could possibly have—what gave him the nerve to face a Golden Immortal Level Four adept of the Hall of Radiance head-on.

The middle-aged man's saintlight orb had fully formed.

It was bigger than the last two. Brighter. And the power packed inside it was even more terrifying.

"Saintlight Annihilation!"

The middle-aged man barked the words and hurled the golden orb forward, its long tail of golden fire tearing straight toward Jared.

Everything in its path ignited.

The ice crystals lining both sides of the passage vaporized on contact. A trench a foot deep was carved through the ground, and the ice along its edges melted under the heat until red molten rock ran through it, filling the air with a sharp sulfur stink.

This strike was more than twice as powerful as the one he'd launched at Josephine.

Jared's interference had clearly enraged him.

He meant to erase this arrogant little insect in a single blow.

Jared watched the golden orb hurtling at him, and not a single ripple touched his violet eyes.

He didn't retreat.

He didn't dodge.

He didn't even block.

He simply thrust his sword.

The instant the tip of the Dragonslayer Sword met the golden orb, violet chaos-flame exploded outward and swelled into a massive blaze that swallowed the orb whole.

Golden saintlight thrashed wildly inside the violet fire, like prey with its throat clamped in a beast's jaws—twisting, fighting, screaming without sound, and still unable to break free from the devouring pull of chaotic force.

Jared gave the sword tip a light flick.

The golden orb, already consumed by chaos-flame, veered off course and shot toward the cluster of Hall of Radiance cultivators.

"Not good! Move!"

The Hall of Radiance cultivators went white with shock and scattered in every direction.

But the orb flew too fast.

And after being swallowed by chaos-flame, it had become even more unstable. It detonated before it even finished crossing over their heads.

Boom—!
