Despite the disappearance of Genesis Games, Jack didn't seem burdened. Instead, he appeared more at ease, and his complexion became healthier.
This brought both relief and joy to Isaac and Joshua. It felt as though Jack had truly returned to them, free once again to share in their camaraderie.
After the meal, Jack got a call from Emily.
It had been a while since Emily had seen Jack. She hoped he could find time to return to Tarthy with her and Quintis. The trip would allow him to relax and become familiar with Sandalwood Group's operations.
Jack didn't outright refuse but said he'd think about it. He remembered that Feena's concert was coming up soon and that Bella from Montclair would be there too. He figured he might as well drop by.
After hanging up, Jack noticed it was almost 1:30 pm.
A thought crossed his mind. Phoebe was arriving at Frostgrade Airport at 2:00 pm. For a moment, he considered driving over to pick her up, but he quickly dismissed the idea.
Phoebe had never asked him to meet her at the airport. If he showed up unannounced, how would she take it?
Worse, if word got back to Feena, it would only complicate things.
After lunch, Isaac and Joshua headed to the indoor court for some basketball. Feeling bored, Jack returned to his dorm.
He figured he'd wait until around five or six in the evening before calling Phoebe to ask her out for dinner.
He decided to rest for a moment. Just as he lay down, his phone rang. It was Phoebe calling.
Her soft voice came through the line. "Jack, where are you right now?"
"I was napping. Are you back?" he replied.
There was a brief pause on Phoebe's end. Then, she softly asked, "I didn't wake you, did I? I was hoping you could help me with something."
