A Life Beyond Limits novel Chapter 849

Jack could see right through Orion and knew exactly what he was trying to do. However, he didn't expose him and instead continued to follow along with Joanne as she proceeded with her registration procedures.

Orion had a cheerful personality. While he busied himself with the procedures, he also engaged Jack in conversation.

"Jack, you didn't join the student council?" he asked.

"No, I didn't have the energy for it," Jack answered simply.

"I see. Actually, you would benefit a lot from joining the student council. Not only will you get the chance to hone your capabilities, but it'll also come in handy if you decide to take the civil service exam or when you're looking for a job. Have you ever tried applying for the position of class leader then?"

"No," Jack answered again. "I didn't have the time for it."

Orion smiled before saying, "Then, you must be very busy with other things in the university."

"That's right, especially since I'm a senior now. My time is limited," Jack explained.

Orion nodded in understanding, but in reality, his impression of Jack had changed. He had assumed that Jack, as a senior, would have lived a fulfilling university life. But the more Orion spoke to him, the more he realized that Jack had lived a rather insignificant life.

Orion himself was a class leader and the vice-president of the student council. His life was definitely more fulfilling compared to Jack's.

Just then, Joanne decided to chime in, "Jack, were you ever part of the Entrepreneurs Association?"

Her question led Orion and Yelena to look at Jack curiously.

Joanne had sharp senses, and she had noticed that Orion's and Yelena's impressions of Jack had undergone a minute change. Although she was a little hesitant to declare Jack's value directly, she didn't want his achievements to go unnoticed either.
