"Is something the matter?" Jack asked as the call connected.

Jack wasn't able to get another word in before Felix abruptly cut him off.

"We're unable to clarify the current situation. Furthermore, after careful consideration on our side, the company has decided to terminate your contract. That's all."

The line went dead. Felix had ended the call.
