A Life Beyond Limits novel Chapter 179

A big-name media outlet that specialized in entertainment news reported that they had visited the public security office to obtain the full details of the scandal.

The director of the office personally verified the legitimacy of the article. He stated that amongst the suspects that they had arrested for the anti-prostitution operation, there was indeed a man who went by the name of "Soul" as his online persona.

Not only that, the director went on to reveal that Soul's charges were not limited to just soliciting prostitutes. Soul was also suspected of hiring two women to partake in immoral activities. As for the full extent of his crimes, the officers would have to conduct a more thorough investigation before more details could be revealed.

When this article came to light, it caused an even bigger uproar than before. Soul's fans refused to believe that it could be true. In their hearts, Soul was someone who was pure and righteous. There was no way that he would do such things.

But the truth was becoming more and more difficult to deny. The articles were published by an influential media outlet. The statement they received was by the director of the public security office. Even so, Soul's diehard fans continued to defend him steadfastly.

"I refuse to believe that the article is real! This must be the work of some twisted hater to drag Soul's name through the mud. We have to gather all the fans to lodge a complaint against this despicable behavior!"

"As Soul's fans, we have to stand and fight against this wickedness till the very end!"

"We will keep protecting Soul!"

But compared to the initial wave of support that was strong and loud, the movement to defend Soul had weakened considerably after the second article was published. The majority of fans were still rational. They were fans, but they did not give their support blindly. In the end, they chose to believe the article of the media outlet.

There were also people who used this opportunity to insult Soul's fans, namely the fans of singers who were overshadowed by Soul's achievements, and the bystanders who prayed for Soul's downfall.

"All the evidence has been placed right under your noses, and yet you still refuse to accept it? Just because he's good at singing doesn't mean he's a good person."

"Soul? Who would waste their time and effort to slander him? Who does he think he is? What an embarrassment."

"Crazy fans truly live up to their name. The evidence is all there but they still want to protect him? What a joke."

"Who's to say that Soul wasn't a bastard with no morals from the start? Can an uncultured farmer who came from the hicks turn over a new leaf after singing a few songs?"

"Exactly. Honestly, I never liked his songs. They sound so bad. Only farmers would like them."

"That's right. He should just name his next song "Farmer Song". It'd match perfectly with the folk dances."

The insults were neverending. Soul's explosive rise to fame had displeased many fans of other singers. They took this chance, wanting to ruin Soul completely.

It was Soul's fault. His shining debut had left a sour taste in so many people's mouths. Who would they try to drag down if not him?

Even Soul's most loyal fans could not withstand the immense amount of negative comments against him.

Soul's fanclub consisted mostly of people who just enjoyed his music. As a result, they were unorganized and underprepared. Facing an opponent that had meticulously planned their attack, their chances of victory were close to zero.

The last straw to break the camel's back came from the same influential media outlet. After obtaining Soul's medical records, it was suspected that Soul had contracted HIV.

Even though it was just speculation, the impact of this article could be likened to a nuclear bomb. It had inadvertently confirmed that Soul led a promiscuous lifestyle. How else would he have contracted the virus?

Soul's name had been completely dragged through the mud. Even his loyal fans who loved his songs were wavering. They were worried that they would be harshly judged if they continued liking his songs.

Of course, Jack was aware that the internet had turned against him. He tried to search for the people who had instigated the witch hunt.

Being a popular singer signed under Starlight Entertainment, naturally the company should be protecting his interests.

However, the situation was beyond Jack's expectations.

When Jack called Felix, he was met with an unfeeling but direct tone.
