A Life Beyond Limits novel Chapter 1024

In an instant, everyone there understood—Jack and the man standing before him didn't just have a grudge. It ran deep, bitter, and personal.

"Wait—are you insulting yourself now?" Jack shot back.

Winona snapped, "Patrick, this jerk picked a fight with me earlier when I was parking—who would've thought he's your enemy too?"

Ian, standing nearby, asked, "Jack, who is he?"

"Patrick Hamilton—the guy I just mentioned," Jack replied quietly.

Ian's expression darkened instantly. He already disliked Patrick, and after witnessing his behavior, his disdain only grew.

Patrick shook his head and said coldly, "Jack, you haven't improved at all. Rolling with a bunch of random clowns and has-beens? That's just plain dumb."

Patrick, a stranger to Ian and Myra, stooped to insult Jack by dismissing them as mere nobodies.

They came from prestigious families and had always been respected by others. How could they tolerate such an insult?

Even Myra spoke up sharply, "Who do you think you are? Mind your manners, or you'll be sorry."

Winona stepped forward. "Who are we? Let me tell you—my father is Gerard Cadwallader. And if I don't respect you today, so what?"

"You're Gerard's daughter?" Myra paused, but quickly sneered again. "Your father isn't even the mayor yet, is he? And you're already throwing your weight around?"

Winona flew into a rage. "So what if I use my privilege to get served first? What's it to you?"

Myra, not to be outdone, retorted, "Is that the best you can do?"

"Damn right! What's the point of being mayor if you don't use your privileges? You're beyond stupid!"

With that, Winona once again turned her gaze to the waiter. "No matter what, we're getting served first today. Or you can kiss your business goodbye!"

Patrick immediately glared at Ian. "Who the hell are you?"

In Tarthy, Patrick's name was a force to be reckoned with. Yet this young man not only showed no fear upon hearing his name, but even dared to threaten him.

Ian simply shook his head, refusing to engage further. Patrick was beneath him; he wasn't fit to speak to him.

Patrick and Jack locked eyes for a moment, but Patrick's gaze wavered slightly.

"Get a leash on your flunkies, and I'll see you then." After Patrick finished speaking, he waved his hand: "Let's go in."

With that, he strode forward, followed by Winona and Mitchell.

The flirtatious woman burned with resentment, but Patrick hadn't backed her. So she held her tongue.

Besides, that fleeting flicker of hesitation in Patrick's eyes when he met Jack's gaze told her everything. Jack and his companions were not to be trifled with.
