A Life Beyond Limits (Jack Holland) novel Chapter 865

Jack was burning with anger. "You'll regret this. I'll make sure your guild pays for what you've done!"

Although it was just a virtual game, and no real harm was done, the insult Jack felt was undeniable.

"Did everyone hear that? This loser said he wanted to attack our guild. Fine! I'll be waiting for you in Phoenix City, loser."

"Fanatic Prince" didn't take Jack's threat seriously at all.

After they left, Jack respawned at the Northern Guardian Zone revival point. "As It Was Before" was already there, waiting for him.

When Jack checked her gear, his heart sank. She had lost a priceless necklace. In real-life currency, it was probably worth tens of thousands of dollars.

"I'm sorry. I couldn't protect you."

Jack knew "As It Was Before" had likely seen the disgraceful act that "Fanatic Prince" had performed over her in-game corpse. As her in-game " husband", Jack felt deeply ashamed at not being able to prevent it.

"As It Was Before" comforted him, "It's fine. It's just a game."

"They humiliated you and took your gear. Trust me, I'll make them pay for this!"

"Oh, Clumsy Piggy. Okay. I believe you'll get your revenge. But don't take it too seriously, okay? It's just a game."

"As It Was Before" was clever. She knew that Jack couldn't possibly challenge the mighty Kings of the Infernal guild, which "Fanatic Prince" belonged to. But she wasn't angry with him. After all, no one was perfect.

"Jack, was what you said just now true?" she suddenly asked, sending a shy emoji with a touch of expectation.

"Which part?" Jack was unsure which statement she was referring to.

"As It Was Before" grew impatient. She stomped her virtual foot and pouted. "Silly! You said I was your woman! Have you forgotten?"

"Oh… that." Jack finally remembered, his face flushing slightly with embarrassment.

"As It Was Before"'s expression turned shy again. "Just tell me... did you really mean it?"

"You're already my in-game wife. Of course you're my woman!"
