Chapter 827
Third Person’s POV
Paisley had been dead set against helping Wanda, but Adelaide’s analysis started to win her
over.
If a high-society lady from the capital could start over at the Center, it would send a powerf message to all the women who were too terrified to ask for help.
They couldn’t afford to wait.
They didn’t want to wake up to the news of another suicide.
Worse, Adelaide realized they had no idea how many desperate she-wolves were already dying in silence in the city’s shadows.
Paisley took a deep breath.
“Adelaide, maybe… maybe you should go to the Glenveil Pack yourself? Find out if Wanda really has no other options. Though…” she hesitated, “I don’t know if Rowena will talk. This is pack business, after all.”
Before Adelaide could even start digging, a wave of nasty rumors hit the streets the next morning.
The gossip was toxic. People were calling Adelaide and Harper hypocrites who only cared about their own status.
The stories claimed they had cruelly turned away a woman in need and even hurled insults at her.
Most wolves were already skeptical of the Center, and these lies spread like wildfire, fueling public outrage
ving the whole institution was just a front to embezzle money.

“The Stag Hunter Pub! I’m going to find the bastards spreading this trash!”
Paisley roared over her shoulder, vanishing into the night.
Paisley had poured her heart and soul into this project. Her motives were pure.

She’d had her own dark times and felt a deep connection to the women at the bottom of the ladder; she truly wanted the Center to be their sanctuary.
She wasn’t about to let anyone drag its name through the mud.
Adelaide was angry too, but she stayed level-headed.
She knew from day one that this wouldn’t be a smooth ride.
She sent her butler to the Glenveil Pack to give Rowena a heads-up that she’d be visiting the next day, but the butler returned with strange news: Rowena claimed she was “sick” and couldn’t see anyone.
Adelaide turned the words over in her mind. Was Rowena actually ill, or was she just dodging a potential political trap?
For now, Adelaide had to focus on her own pile of military headaches.
She was busy planning a crackdown on the insubordinate soldiers in the Royal Patrol-a move that was guaranteed to land her in the hot seat with Lycan Erasmus.
Meanwhile, Paisley didn’t take long to find the truth.
Just as she suspected, Luna Sidney was the one pulling the strings, fanning the flames of public resentment to tear down the Center.
Paisley usually kept her distance from her relatives in the Stephens family, but this was the final straw.
She ordered Wendy to head back and update Adelaide while she marched straight to the Blue Abyss territory.
The guards at the gate picked up her murderous intent and sharp aura from a distance. They stepped out nervously, flanked by clite enforcers
“Halt! Who are you? How dare you approach the pack boundary like this!” a guard barked
Paisley suppressed the urge to rip them to shreds.

“Get inside and tell Sidney that Paisley is here to settle the score!”
The name “Paisley” was well-known within the Blue Abyss Pack.
