Chapter 604
Third Person’s POV
Lycan Erasmus said, “The Illusory Moon pack can’t be easily trusted. We must send people to keep an eye on them and also investigate which other packs and families they’ve had dealings
with.”
Adelaide replied, “Rest assured, we’ve already arranged for an investigation.”
Lycan Erasmus was still not fully satisfied. “With so many she–wolves sent out by the Spectrehowl Pack, why have we only clarified the situation of one so far?”
“Because those in charge of these she–wolves are replaced periodically, and most of the replaced ones have been killed……”
“Actually, it’s not just one. There’s also a breeder named Willow who joined the Soulrend Pack. Her real name is Wilorina. According to our investigation, she’s changed her identity and left the capital.”
Lycan Erasmus nodded, “Hmm, continue to send people to find them. Bring them all to light and ensure they can’t be exploited by others. After all, they’re all pitiable souls.”
This sigh from Lycan Erasmus let Adelaide breathe a little easier.
In fact, the whereabouts and identities of those she–wolves had been mostly pinned down.
It was just that there were still some people she hadn’t approached yet, such as the families. associated with the Mist Shadow Pack and the Styxwarden Pack.
Tertia had voluntarily confessed her identity.
When Adelaide and her team went to Illusory Moon for investigation, Tertia had stepped forward and openly stated her background, so this had to be reported truthfully.
These she–wolves were sent out by Madison, but even the people in charge of them had to be regularly replaced.
This indicated that the person manipulating everything from the shadows couldn’t actually get in direct contact with them.
That was why Lycan Erasmus had called them “pitiable souls.”
If Madison’s control hadn’t been so indirect, these she-wolves would likely have been directly

labeled as accomplices in treason.

This was also why Adelaide hadn’t mentioned that “Wilorina was heading to the Southern Border to seck out Tad.”
Once said, these she–wolves would definitely not have a good outcome.
The Southern Border Commander, Tad, had a very sensitive position. Lycan Erasmus would absolutely not let anyone who tried to get close to Tad go unpunished.
And since all of Hunt’s daughters‘ fates were tied together, if Wilorina was labeled as an accomplice, Lycan Erasmus would treat all the other she–wolves, including Ramona, the same
way.
Throughout history, in cases involving treason, those in power have always preferred to err on the side of caution, rather than let any suspicious person go free.
After leaving the royal palace, Lance asked, “Have you already sent people to the Southern Border?”
The information about Wilorina inquiring about Tad’s preferences had been confessed by the current manor management.
Dennis had been in charge of the interrogation.
After showing this testimony to Lance, Dennis had destroyed it on the spot.
Dennis also believed this matter should not be spoken of, as it concerned the lives of these she–wolves and their mothers.
“Paisley has already sent people,” Adelaide said, looking a bit uneasy. “You know Lycan Erasmus well. If we tell him about Wilorina going to the Southern Border, what do you think he would do?”
Lance slightly lifted his chin and glanced out the carriage window at the scenery outside. His eyes were dark. “It would be a gamble with an overwhelming likelihood of failure.”
Adelaide let out a soft sigh, “In fact, the information on these people has been mostly clarified, and their basic identities have been confirmed. But this list will eventually have to be handed over to Lycan Erasmus. As for Wilorina, we can only say she’s currently missing.”
Tertia had already been sent to a private care facility, and the rest would most likely be sent away as well.

Even if they had given birth to children, these packs would never keep them.

Anyone with even the slightest connection to the treason case would not be allowed to stay in the pack.
Even though Lycan Erasmus now called them “pitiable souls,” no one would risk keeping them.
The mind of those in power is always hard to fathom. Even if they’re called pitiable today, no one knows how Lycan Erasmus will label them tomorrow.
Lance approved of Adelaide’s approach–after all, these people were innocently implicated.
