Before he could finish his sentence, he looked at the man. If this was really the wife he bought and she called out using his cell phone, she might run away...
The man also looked at the conductor. "Just take it as a good deed, lend it to her."
The conductor was even more confused this time.
He took the phone off his neck and handed it to Arya.
Arya took it. "Thank you."
She instinctively wanted to dial Xavier's number first, but when she pressed the button, she dialed Orlando's phone. Now she was not sure if Jacob and Xavier could be contacted. She had to contact someone first and leave here before looking for them.
The call was answered soon.
"Who is it?" Orlando was unhappy.
Arya held the phone tightly. "It's me."
Orlando perked up in an instant. "Arya?"
He was so excited that he called Arya's name, not "Miss Harrison".
"I'm in C City. Come and pick me up as soon as possible..."
Orlando looked confused. "Aren't you in M City? Why are you in C City?
"It's a long story. Come here as soon as possible." Her voice was very anxious.
Orlando put away his attitude. "I'll go there as soon as possible."
As he spoke, he was checking the route online to see the fastest way.
He was in H City, which was quite close to that county. "Wait for me for three hours."
Arya said, "Okay, I called you from someone else's phone. I'll wait for you at the bus terminal."
Orlando replied, "OK."
Hanging up the phone, Arya looked at the conductor. "Can I make another call?"
The conductor smiled. "My phone bill is very expensive."
The man took money out and handed it to the conductor. "Let her make a call again."
The conductor glared at the man. "Do I need it?"
The man said, "Didn't you say your charges are very expensive?"
"Yes, it's expensive. Is that enough?"
Arya handed the phone to the conductor. "Here it is. Thank you for letting me make a call just now."
"You can continue. I'll be kind to the end." The conductor waved his hand.
Arya pursed her lips. "Thank you, then."
She took her phone and dialed Xavier's number but it couldn't get through, so did Jacob.
Arya covered her chest with worries.
The plane was out of control. It was really dangerous even no one could tell her the exact condition. She did not dare to continue to think, so she forced herself to calm down.
After returning the phone to the conductor, she kept staring out the window.
Praying silently in her heart, she hoped Xavier would be fine.
After about an hour, the bus stopped. The man got off, and Arya followed him.
"You wanted to wait for the person to pick you up here, right?" The man looked at Arya and said.
He heard what was Arya talking about on the phone just now.
Arya nodded. There were many people at the station. She found a seat and sat down to wait.
The man squatted beside the telegraph pole and Arya made a seat for him. "Sit down for a while."
The man shook his head.
While waiting for Orlando, the man started smoking again.
Arya looked at the thick smoke and remembered the way Xavier smoked.
Only when they got into the car did Orlando dare to ask, "What's going on? Didn't you go to M City? Why are you here?"
"When we came back, something happened to the plane... Xavier and I lost contact. I don't know what happened to them..." Her voice became lower and lower.
Orlando's face darkened. The plane accident was no small matter.
He handed the water to Arya. "Have a drink. I'll look for him with you."
Arya had never taken a sip of water since the accident, and her lips were dry.
She took two sips of water and asked Orlando for his phone.
Now she could only call the police and ask for help.
"Don't worry too much. Everything will be fine." Orlando comforted her.
"How can I not worry? The direction is out of order. There was a big mountain in front of us. The plane would hit... It was very dangerous..." Arya covered her mouth. "I'm sorry, I'm in a mess."
She couldn't help but cover her face. "I'm worried."
Orlando looked at her and said, "I know. I don't blame you."
They didn't know where the plane crashed. Even if they called the police, it would take time to find the trail.
During this period, Orlando brought Arya back to his residence in H City. He had just arrived, and the house was new.
There were three rooms inside, and he asked Arya to take a shower first. "I'll buy you a new set of clothes. You can't wear your clothes anymore... Wouldn't it worry the family if you went back?"
If the family saw her like this, they would be worried. Arya agreed.
After taking a shower and changing her clothes, Orlando helped check the wound on her ankle. "What did you do?"
Arya looked out the window and was lost in thought. She didn't hear what Orlando said.
She didn't hear from the police till night.
Worry and fear occupied her mind. She hovered uneasily on the edge of the dreams and woke up, struggling like a dying patient in a dream full of formalin...
Orlando stood at the bedroom door and observed her silently.
