Your Love Is My Weapon novel Chapter 339

Georgina was caught unawares. She was in such a fluster that she almost dropped her phone. "When did you come?" She looked at Rufus and asked.

Rufus did not answer her. He shifted his eyes from her face to her hand holding the phone. "Who are you talking to on the phone? Why are you so nervous to see me?"

Georgina regained composure. "I'm not nervous. It's just that your sudden appearance made me jump." As she spoke, she naturally hung up the phone.

Rufus gazed at her for a long time before saying, "Georgina."

Georgina took a sip of coffee, averting her eyes from him. "What?"

Rufus was not himself today. Georgina was not used to him behaving like this.

Rufus leaned back in his chair and looked out the window. "I'm getting married soon."

Although there was small love between them, it was irksome to hear that.

Georgina sneered. "Congratulations, then."

"Actually..."

"Actually, it's not of your own accord. Your father forces you, right?" Georgina said it for Rufus.

Rufus was surprised and looked at her in disbelief.

Georgina smiled. "Don't look at me like that. I was your wife for several years so I know your father. I assume your fiancé is not a girl from a normal family."

Rufus gave Georgina a long look and asked, "Then do you know me?"

Georgina didn't want to talk to him about this. She grabbed her bag and said, "I have something else to do. I'm leaving."

Rufus gripped her wrist. He still felt something for her, but now that they'd been divorced, nothing he said would be of any point.

"Take good care of Jimmy."

"I will," Georgina said.

"Marry an ordinary man. Forget that person. He won't love you."

Georgina tore her hand from his grip. "It's none of your business."

"It's for your own good. Xavier loves that woman very much. You don't stand a chance, you know."

Georgina looked back at Rufus and narrowed her eyes. "You know Arya?"

Rufus stood there with his hands in his pockets and said unthinkingly, "I've met her a few times. She's different from other women."

Georgina tightened her fingers around her bag but pretended to be unperturbed, "What's the difference?"

Rufus thought about it and couldn't tell the difference.

"I just don't want you to get hurt."

"Thank you. I don't need your concern." Georgina strode away.

She looked calm but was panicked.

Janet's disappearance and Rufus's words both implied one thing: Xavier and Arya were still in love with each other.

Georgina smashed the bag against the ground angrily. Her cosmetics were scattered all over the floor. She squatted down and buried her face in her hands.

Mr. Gates was no exception. He called him chief but did he really mean it?

When he'd chosen Mr. Jones over him, hatred had been sowed.

"Time flies. It seems like it was yesterday that you trained me. In the blink of an eye, I'm old," Mr. Gates sighed.

"Yeah, I think I'm still very young but actually already have had one foot in the grave."

"You look hale and hearty. You'll live a long life."

Cullen waved his hand. He just wished to live long enough to see Arya give birth smoothly.

At this moment, someone came to tell Mr. Gates that there was something he needed to deal with. Cullen gestured with one hand that he should go ahead.

"Take good care of my old chief. Come to me if you need anything," Mr. Gates said to Cullen's Deputy. Despite his true thoughts, his disguise was flawless.

In a crisp suit, Rufus was greeting the guests with a smile. He didn't look like a man who was going to get married, as though the party only served to tell everyone that the Gates Family and the Woody Family were now united through marriage.

The Gates Family would not go downhill because Mr. Gates was not in that position anymore.

It was unsaid but everyone got it.

Cullen looked at the bustling crowds in the hall and said to Deputy behind him, "What time is it?"

Deputy checked the time. "Ten twenty."

Cullen's eyes became inscrutable. "It's almost time..."

At this moment, a black car stopped outside the hotel and the door opened...
