Your Love Is But a Dream (Clara and Wren) novel Chapter 269

"No need. You can go back now," Katrina said.

She knew very well that Teressa couldn't help her. The Zachman family held immense power in Phoypolis. Teressa was just an ordinary worker. If she were to get caught up because of Katrina, it would make Teressa's life in the city incredibly difficult.

The grudges between her and Carlisle shouldn't involve innocent people.

Looking at the tiredness on Katrina's face, Teressa had already guessed her intention. Yet, the worry on her face remained unshakable.

Carlisle, who had been waiting impatiently, glanced at his watch and walked over to Katrina. "Are you done yet? We need to go."

"I'll head out first. Be careful on your way home," Katrina said as she waved at Teressa.

She didn't spare a single glance at Carlisle and made her way down the stairs, heading straight for the car parked in the yard.

Carlisle's face darkened slightly, but he said nothing and followed her.

The driver, who had been waiting, immediately opened the rear door of the car when he saw Katrina approach.

Katrina ignored him and went for the passenger seat instead. She was already tired of being in the same car with Carlisle.

Sensing her thoughts, Carlisle strode up to her and grabbed her wrist firmly.

"Get in the back," he ordered.

Chapter 269 1

With Wren no longer around to handle the company's affairs, Carlisle had been forced to pour even more energy into his work, which was already taking a toll on him.

What caught him off guard was Katrina's unexpected behavior. The obedient, well-mannered Katrina he once knew was now making a scene.

Chapter 269 3

Katrina watched as the car headed toward the outskirts of the city. After nearly an hour of driving, they finally stopped in front of a secluded villa on the edge of town.

As she gazed at the building before her, her heart sank. Some of the suspicions she had been harboring seemed to be confirmed at that very moment.
