Your Love Is But a Dream (Clara and Wren) novel Chapter 228

When Katrina finished speaking, she entered the walk-in closet without giving Martha another glance.

Meanwhile, Martha's expression turned solemn, and she watched Katrina leave with a cold gaze.

The moment Martha stepped out of the room, she saw Carlisle smoking outside.

Feeling slightly awkward, he asked, "What did she say?"

Martha threw him a glare, snapping, "What else do you want me to say? It's all your fault.

"How could you do suspicious activities at home with that bitch and let your wife catch you red-handed? It's your fault that she's asking for a divorce."

The panic was plain in Carlisle's eyes, and he felt an inexplicable sense of frustration. He thought Martha would change Katrina's mind with her words.

To his surprise, Katrina had stood her ground. She really wanted a divorce.

At that realization, Carlisle grew more frustrated. Looking at Martha, he questioned, "Why didn't you talk some sense into her?

"How dare she ask for a divorce just like that? She has no respect for our family."

Martha's eyes widened in anger. "What's the use of me talking sense into her? Look at yourself. You're finally panicking, huh?

"If you don't want to get divorced, you'd better get rid of that woman and never let her show up again. Perhaps there's still a chance. I can't help you if you still insist on doing what you want."

Carlisle froze and said nothing.

Katrina's firm tone left Carlisle feeling frustrated. He thought his absence for the past few days was enough to let her calm down. Yet, she insisted on leaving him.

Carlisle suppressed his anger and grabbed her suitcase handle. "It's the middle of the night. Must you really make such a huge fuss?

"Like I said, we'll never divorce. So, give up already."

"Carlisle, this is not up for discussion. I'm merely informing you. I've decided to get a divorce."

Katrina shoved him aside and walked away with her suitcase without turning back.

Carlisle did not stop her. After watching her leave, he turned around and kicked the door angrily.
