This was exactly what she wanted. 

Ivy leaned closer to her mother and lowered her voice. “Mom, since Katrina wants a divorce and Mr. Zachman doesn’t, why don’t we think of a way to help them 

“Mr. Zachman doesn’t like that woman anyway. Once we get rid of both of those eyesores, no one will stand in our way in the Zachman family anymore,” 

Shirley gave it a dark look but didn’t say anything. 

Of course, she wanted Carlisle and Katrina to divorce, but it wasn’t something she could bring up herself. 

Men’s feelings were finite, and so was their guilt. If she asked for too much, it would only lead to resentment. 

That was why, for years, she had remained quietly by Carlisle’s side, understanding and undemanding, earning his pity and guilt. 

Without fighting or competing, Carlisle had willingly offered her everything. 

She had been waiting for Ratrina to get fed up and tiled for divorce on her own 

She had waited four long years and finally thought her patience was paying oft. But never in her wildest dreams did she imagine that the one refusing the divorce would be Carlisle 

During this time, her daughter wasn’t the only one suffering. She was, too. 

She had spent half her life scheming and was now on the verge of achieving the life she had always dreamed of. She wouldn’t allow anyone to take it away. 

Even if it meant resorting to underhanded methods, she wouldn’t hesitate. 

After getting Wren’s contact information, Nina couldn’t focus on her classes anymore. She kept scrolling through his social feed. 

Before long, she became captivated by his posts 

The world he lived in, so far removed from hers, fascinated her. The more she looked, the more it stirred her dissatisfaction with her own life and awakened the ambition buried deep within her. 

She became even more certain that Wren was no ordinary person.

“What are you looking at?” 

A man’s voice suddenly sounded in her ear, accompanied by the scent of his shower gel as he came up behind her. 

He wrapped his arms around her, his lips brushing against the smooth skin of her nape while his hands roamed over her body with obvious intent 

Nina was startled by the sudden interruption and quickly turned off her phone, setting it aside. She tilted her head and gave him a quick peck on the lips. 

“Nothing much. I was just bored waiting for you to finish your shower, so I played with my phone for a bit,” she said with a smile, masking the guilt in her voice. Ryan narrowed his eyes slightly, pretending not to notice anything unusual. 

The air conditioning in the room was on full blast, and his cool hands slammed across her skin, making Nina shiver involuntarily, a soft sound escaping her lips. Her body trembled under his touch 

Ryan looked at her reaction, his gaze predatory and tinged with a barely concealed disdain 

“I heard Ms. Salford didn’t go to school today. Instead, some unfamiliar man filled in for her. What’s that all about?” 

Ryan didn’t have classes in the moming and had only gone to campus in the afternoon, so he hadn’t run into Wren. However, he had overheard others mentioning that Clara hadn’t shown up to teach today and that some man, seemingly out of nowhere, had taken her place for a few classes. 

The news immediately put Ryan on edge. 

Clara wasn’t a local in Larkston, and the number of people she knew here could be counted on one hand. Who could this man be to fill in for her? 

The first person Ryan thought of was the man he had seen that night when he dropped Clara off at her place, the one who had been waiting at her door. If it hadn’t been for that man ruining his plans..
