Your Guise Is Slipping, Miss Pearl (Pearl and Richard) novel Chapter 1400

Hanzel's eyes lit up when he heard that Feather was awake. He dashed into the ward and hurried to Feather's side, watching as she slowly opened her eyes, still showing signs of exhaustion.

Unable to contain his concern, he gently touched her face. "You've been through a lot, babe."

"It's okay, I'm fine," Feather smiled faintly. Then, suddenly remembering something, she asked, "Where's the baby? Can I see him?"

Pearl couldn't help but chuckle. "Eager to see the baby already? He's fine, it's a boy, and he's in the incubator."

Feather blushed slightly. "It's not that, but—"

Pearl continued, "Since you've just given birth, I want to give you a big gift."

"What gift?"

"I've decided to give you 15% of the company's shares."

Feather's eyes widened instantly. "No, that's inappropriate."

Pearl smiled and glanced at her. "Why not? You've just given birth to a child, so consider this my gift to you. Besides, you've done so much for me, and I haven't figured out what to give you yet. I think this is perfect."

Having 15% of the company's shares was equivalent to having the right to enter the company's board of directors. "Oh, I've also promoted you. You're now the vice president of Cerubleu."

Feather couldn't help but feel her eyes moisten when she heard this. "You treat me so well, Pea. I really don't know how to repay you."

As they reached the door, Hanzel teased, "Esther, I never expected you to be considerate of a pregnant woman. When are you planning to marry James?"

Esther glared at him. "Why do you care? Who said I'm going to marry him?"

Hanzel clicked his tongue. "Tsk, you're still holding a grudge. Why are you still stuck on that incident from back then? Can't you forget about it?"

Pearl looked at Esther, sensing that something was off with her attitude. "What happened back then? Why is she acting like this now?"

Hanzel implied that Esther had become the way she was now because of something that happened in the past. What did she go through to become like this?
