"I want to leave this place safely."
Richard was suspicious. "So, who paid you to do it?"
Joy shook her head, acting coy. "I can't tell you that. But you should know they're very powerful."
"Luther Crawford?" It had to be him.
"There's no point asking because I wouldn't tell you."
Realizing she wouldn't disclose more, Richard decided to agree to her terms.
Joy was relieved, but then Richard turned to Bliss. "Are you bringing her along?"
Bliss was shocked. This was Joy's plan, yet she was dragged into it. What bothered her even more was that Joy might escape without consequences, while her own future was uncertain.
"Please take me with you." Bliss looked scared. She didn't want to be left behind, knowing she would bear the brunt of Richard's anger. Knowing this terrified her further.
"No, that's all." Happy to be leaving, Joy smiled and left.
Richard stayed behind, appearing calm. The assistant was puzzled.
"Are you really letting her go?"
The assistant couldn't understand how Joy could walk away unpunished after everything. Richard seemed unbothered, which was unlike him, leaving the assistant to wonder at his calm demeanor.
