Your Guise Is Slipping, Miss Pearl (Pearl and Richard) novel Chapter 1309

But a troubling event unfolded on the very first day Cerubleu returned to its official operations.

Blake rushed downstairs after hearing the commotion outside. His anger flared up when he saw what was happening. "What are you doing?" he demanded.

A group of people stood outside, holding banners and protest signs. Some even recklessly sprayed paint on the company's walls.

Blake read the spray-painted messages accusing Cerubleu of harming the public with fake medicines.

'Fake medicines? How could that be?' Blake thought, puzzled.

As Blake stepped forward, one of the protesters panicked and aimed a spray can at him. Blake backed off and asked from a distance, "What do you want?"

The protester gave Blake a scornful look. "What do we want? It's obvious. Your company's fake medicine harmed us. Look, my mother died because of it!" He pointed to a corpse covered with a white cloth lying on the ground.

The sight of the body made some bystanders panic and scream.

"Do you realize it's illegal to cause a scene here?" Blake asked.

"So what? Will obeying the law bring my mother back?" the man retorted.

"Stop this nonsense!" Rosalie shouted as she came down. The scene visibly shook her.

"You're just defending your company," the man accused. "I want an explanation from your boss today!" He tossed an empty spray can to the ground. "Where's Pearl? Bring her out!"

"You think you can call the police?" he sneered.

Blake clenched his fist, visibly angry.

"Let's just inform Pearl about what's happening," Rosalie suggested.

"I don't want to worry her," Blake hesitated. "She's pregnant and feeling sick. If this stress affects her pregnancy, Richard will kill me."

"But Pearl is strong. I think she can keep calm and handle this," Rosalie insisted.

After a moment's hesitation, Blake finally called Pearl.
